Everybody knows he has the arm talent. Im just not sure he has that moxy, killer instinct/confidence to be consistent.. Im not sure he's able to make reads quickly enough. One thing we saw last year was Kiffin tailoring the route combinations to facilitate easier reads on the fly for Sims. Maybe that will be the case with Coker. We all know the passing game ran thru Coop last year, though. And Coker doesn't have a proven, reliable Cooper-esque receiver to rely on this year. If he can work on his touch a little more on those dumpdowns and screens, and Kiffin has confidence in him, I think we'll be fine behind center.

If it's a close battle between Coker and Cornwell, I say go with Cornwell... He has more upside. But, it's going to come down to who makes the least mistakes...Coker's boneheaded (the "WTF was he thinking?")mistakes, or Cornell's youthful mistakes, and which one hurts the offense less.

Welcome Sarge.

I know Coker missed spring practice and was new to the system last year but it concerned me when he had to run to the sideline for Kiffin to tell him the play rather than signal the play. It happened every game he played.

In Coker's defense he game in to the Florida game, with the game still in doubt, and had a nice drive capped off with a TD pass to Cooper while Sims was in the locker room hurt.
