Title: Trent Richardson can't practice as Oakland Raiders open training camp
Post by: Jamos on August 01, 2015, 07:40:09 AM
The Oakland Raiders held their first practice of training camp on Friday in Napa, Calif., but Trent Richardson didn't participate. Oakland announced the former Alabama All-American had been placed on the non-football injury list.

The non-football injury list is for players who get hurt away from team activities, although the Raiders did not announce an injury for Richardson. His placement on the NFI list also might indicate he did not pass or did not take Thursday's conditioning test.

This is so sad to read knowing that he was once our Saturday hero at Bama. I think he is another victim as a kid coming out of the ghettos with more muscle than brain in the sports world. They just don't know how to handle the luxury that comes with the big dollar contracts that they have earned. I did read where teams are now offering some investment classes for the players now but it's a bit late for some of them.

Hopefully things will work out for him in the days ahead.

I hope things work out for TR. I thought when he left Alabama he was a "can't miss" NFL star for years to come. The experts did too because he was the #3 draft pick. If he does not get his career turned around he will do down as the biggest NFL bust ever from Alabama.

This is very disappointing, considering his positive visit with CNS in P'cola the other day. I thought things may have started turning around with him. I hope it's a lot simpler than we think it is.

I remember Jim Brown saying and not backing up that TR was not going to be a good football player at all. Is he going to be right about this? It is starting to look like it. RTR!
