Title: Saban: Offensive Line is a work in progress
Post by: pmull on August 13, 2011, 07:10:24 PM
Quote
Barrett Jones, one of the top guards in the Southeastern Conference, is part of the competition at the left tackle position - the only spot on the UA line that does not return a starter from 2010. Saban indicated that freshman Cyrus Kouandjio played some at left tackle in the scrimmage as well.

"He's a young guy who has a lot of potential," Saban said of Kouandjio. "There are some moving parts there. At some point in time in this camp, we need to develop some cohesion in that. ... If we continue to develop a left tackle, Barrett Jones is obviously going to go back and play where he's always played, at one of the guard positions."

I am not worried at all about our offensive line. We have 1 All American and 3 All SEC guys, so I think we will be really good. What this tells me is that our D is going to be vicious against the run. I can't wait to see teams try to run against us. And I am thinking that CK may end up being our starter at LT before Kent St or maybe PSU. I hope so.

There is a lot of experience on that line but they have got to play together. If TR and EL can not againsr our defense in practice then something has to be good somewhere. RTR!
