Title: Nick Saban's smokescreen highlights Alabama's opening scrimmage Post by: pmull on August 14, 2011, 07:49:32 AM Turns out blindfolds simply weren't enough to temper speculation regarding Alabama's position battles.
In an effort to defuse public debate, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban declined to release most statistics kept by the school's media relations staff from Saturday's preseason scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Statistics had been provided for key players after spring scrimmages. Saban's comments and a press release were all the information to go on. Of course, statistics surfaced on various fan websites - the same avenues Saban recently criticized for posting "misinformation." http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/08/nick_saban_smokescreen_highlig.html Title: Re: Nick Saban's smokescreen highlights Alabama's opening scrimmage Post by: Jamos on August 14, 2011, 08:29:10 AM CNS is a genius, he's always a step ahead of everyone else.

Kudos to CNS for giving both a fair chance to prove themselves. Title: Re: Nick Saban's smokescreen highlights Alabama's opening scrimmage Post by: BAMAWV on August 14, 2011, 09:43:30 AM Where's ToXiK?

Title: Re: Nick Saban's smokescreen highlights Alabama's opening scrimmage Post by: hscoach on August 14, 2011, 10:33:24 AM This is a smart move by CNS. Too many people look at the numbers and not the factors involved with the numbers.
For instance, how many drops did the rec's have that affected the stats. Also, int's were the balls that should have been caught, bad throws, or even a rec running the wrong route. Stats don't show plays made on the run as well as the ablility to check down on plays. Gosh I spelt that won wrong for sho. I wonder more how the OL is blocking against our 1st team defense. If that is going well then we are going to be ready when we take the field. This is my concern more than who plays QB. RTR!
