Title: Crimson Replay Benny Perrin
Post by: pmull on August 14, 2011, 09:17:38 AM
RollBamaRoll has a Hometown Hero series that features Benny Perrin. Perrin played on two NC teams for Bear Bryant. He is best know for his interception to end the 1981 barn game which was Bryant's 315th win.

I moved to Decatur in 1994. Our realtor knew I was a huge Bama fan so she took us to BB Perrin's BBQ for lunch. This is a local BBQ place that has all kind of Bama memorabilia. One item he had in a glass case was the football from his interception in Bryant's 315th win. He said the game ended and he had the ball and no one asked for it. Word finally got out that he had the ball and he gave it to the Bryant Museum. The BBQ place is still here but it is no longer owned by the Perrin brothers.
