Title: Auburn investigation
Post by: 2Stater on August 19, 2011, 06:35:13 AM
The information below was sent to me in an e-mail from a good friend. It was posted in another forum. Don't know if it's true or not, but said friend writes that he is usually reliable. Very interesting if nothing else. Could Nelson be Cam's bag man?

Quote
Subject: Fw: Recap of Auburn investigation

This was posted on TI today by a reliable poster.  Take anything with a grain of salt but the poster in question has been reliable in the past.  We will have to wait and see if anything happens to booger U.

Sounds like it might not be over ???

This is a state by state look into the NCAA investigation.
Louisiana
Jeremy Hill’s mom shopped him and took money from AU and pointed to Sean Nelson as the source of the money.
•Jeremy Hill’s mom tried to steer La’El Collins to AU for remuneration; Jeff Lee, out of nowhere, claimed with high confidence Collins would end up at AU
•Greg Robinson got an iPhone at AU, bragged about getting cash
•Sean Nelson took GR and TR to AU for multiple visits and on FaceBook openly professed his dedication to AU to Trovon
• TR and GR’s coach, Lorio, shared dirt with NCAA re: AU
Florida
NCAA has talked to at least six coaches in south Florida. The coaches in AU hate Trooper Taylor’s guts• AU signed two high-profile players, Corey Lemonier and Robenson Therezie, who were widely known to have their hand out. A south Florida coach told NCAA that AU offered him a free trip to AU if he would bring a recruit with him. AU paid for room and left a pre-paid gift card in his room• A south Florida player who did not sign with Auburn told NCAA that AU gave him a prepaid debit card on his visit and turned it over to the NCAA• A parent told NCAA about Trooper Taylor providing alcohol and girls for her son and fourteen year old nephew on their visit to AU and wrote a letter to parents detailing this incident• Stanley McGlover claimed on HBO that AU paid him for performance and for his commitment. NCAA has focused questions on Trooper Taylor and 7-on-7 coaches / teams. Tony Stewart from St. Augustine, FL was offered a large some of money to sign with au. He told the Clemson coaching staff, they reported it to the NCAA. The NCAA came back later and interviewed Tony and he gave them details.
Georgia
NCAA interviewed John Jenkins, a player AU recruited but who signed with UGA.
• Chaz Ramsey claimed he received several thousand dollars while at AU. He spoke to the NCAA
Texas
Will Lyles drove Lache Seastrunk from Temple, TX to Auburn. NCAA interviewed Tommy Tubbeville back in the late fall. Auburn hosted Big Cat Weekend, where a number of 7-on-7 coaches and street agents, including Sean Nelson and Will Lyles, were in attendance. • Christian Jones parents removed AU from consideration after kid was given alcohol, etc. at AU.
Maryland
UA reported AU to NCAA for providing Cyrus Kouandijo with inappropriate things (girls, alcohol) on trip and threatened to tell parents about his activity if he reneged. Rumors that they threatened to turn him over to NCAA for supposed agent contact.
Arkansas
AU signs top player in Arkansas two years in a row. Both players associated with Walt Williams, street agent. Walt Williams drove players to campus for visits.• NCAA has conducted interviews in ARK this spring.
Mississippi
* Cecil Newton admitted that he had Kenny Rogers shop his son to MSU.
* John Bond made a tape of conversations with Cecil Newton that prove Cam knew he was being shopped. There is a tape and HBO has acquired it.

When Bama was down with scholarship reductions, the Barn held up their fingers in the air, and printed their "fear the thumb" shirts, like their dominance at the time had nothing to with Bama's penalties for breaking rules.........so, IF they are indeed guilty, I hope they get all they have coming.

Well here I go again, after Sheridan dissappointed me I said no more rumors for me, but, maybe just one more time.

A little popcorn and a good jig makes me feel better all over again.  :D

How could this person possibly know so much about an NCAA investigation, unless the President of the NCAA is the source. I think this is just too detailed and has too many revelations. This info would have to come straight from the Enforcement division of he NCAA and I'm not buying it. Sorry, but when somthing sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

I don't know for a fact if the barn did anything wrong but I would bet my paycheck they paid Scam. I think if the NCAA does their job they will uncover a lot of serious recruiting violations.

Can anyone remember a high profile NCAA investigation go on as long as the barn investigation and in the end nothing happen? I think this falls in the "too much smoke there has to be a fire" category.

I have to agree with MD. This sounds like a Death Penalty in court. I thin is of real value. I have to see it to believe it. My question is, if the NCAA has this much why not go ahead with this case it has enough? Sorry! RTR!

Cheer up! They are dirty and I think something will happen in the next 18 months. If just some of this stuff is true, it means Auburn is in deep doo-doo. The NCAA hounds are on the case and that's not good for Auburn.

A case of this magnitude takes a long time. Look at the Reggie Bush case. It took years. Once the NCAA issues the LOI they only have a certain length of time (90 days I think) to wrap up the case. Because of that, they don't issue the LOI until they are basically done with the investigation. We may still be talking about this next summer.

MD, I'm like you. Not all of that can be true without a legitimate source. But there is so much of it, I can't help but think some of it is legit. I'll bet 10 e-creds that at least 25% of it is true.

On my way home from town this morning I listened to Jack Arute, XM radio, interview Mark Emmert of the NCAA. Arute went right after Emmert about Danny Sheridan going on public radio saying that he has had the bagmans name for about six months but could not disclose it because of legal issues. Emmert came back with, the NCAA is always getting info from outside sources about certain cases. Arute then told him that Sheridan said that he got his info a source in the NCAA, Emmert had very little to say about that only that if Sheridan has that info he needs to call his office today. That interview ended very suddenly.

Now how stupid does Emmert think the fans are in this country, Sheridan says he got this name from someone in Emmert's office six months ago and Emmert doesn't have a clue about this name of the bagman.

My only hope is this case  must have a lot more to it than Newton, for the NCAA to be taking so long with the investigation.

I heard that too.  Arute pointed out that Emmert didn't seem to know who Sheridan was, nor had he heard about it.  Sounded like he has some digging to do into 'phone records' (again).

I am looking forward to that celebratory drink..What you you friends recommend?

I was partial to Jim Beam when I did drink..also liked the rare brand bourbons
25 yr old scotch was also a favorite...
25 yr old Rum, "Pompero" was pretty goo, but only available in Venezuela
I'm not partial to cocktails, I prefer  my alcohol "neat", although a shot and a beer would suffice quite nicely I suppose.

My cousin Odis up in Winston County doesn't make his "Winston County Wildcat" anymore, so that's out as my sons drank the last of it yrs ago. "Smooth as a virgin's Kiss. aged less than 2 hrs."

I know it is all a matter of taste, but I KNOW all of you will celebrate..question is, just how with what?

Let me hear your ideas!

Racks?  Not a good fit for this forum, but we occasionally have a view of some lookers (use your imagination).

Ol' Lewis would have said that..DID say that!

Rueben: thanks for the Bulleit info..I just might try it if I can find it..SC is sort of a backwater when it comes to fine spirits..so I have heard.

As partial as I am to fine bourbon, I do think one of the finest drinks I have ever had was Macalan's 25 yr old single malt..prob. couldn't afford that now.
