Title: pickem issue
Post by: roll tide roll on September 15, 2015, 05:21:00 PM
So, week 1, I go 6 - 4.

Then, week 2, I go 6 - 4.

When I look at the overall leader board I am in a 5-way tie for 6th place.

In sole possession of 5th place is Hannibal Lecter, MD.

Dr. Lecter failed to pick 3 of the games from week 1 and yet he received no apparent penalty for not picking.

His 3 no-picks should be counted as losses and there should be a 6-way tie for 5th place.

Thanks for taking my call.

Right now it only shows your best score since we get to drop our 2 lowest scores.  Once we get to week 4, it will start combining your 2 best and dropping your 2 worst.

If you don't get all of your picks in on time the missing pick is counted as a push.  I didn't want to punish folks for not getting their picks in before a Thursday night game, for example.

The flip side is that they don't have a chance to get that game correct either.  So if you put in all 10 picks, you have more chances to get 7 correct and beat that 6-1 guy.

Fair enough.

We disagree on methodology, but I will be alright.

Remember high school?  6/10 (60%) is fail.

HTH.

The first week I didn't get my Thursday picks on time but I obviously would have picked the winners. If you don't believe me I can go back and pick them now.

You're still not winning...  yet.   :lol2:

Really it is the only way the computer can work it given that we drop two bad weeks and don't punish for non-picks, except as a lost opportunity.

Well don't worry my neighbors and friends. I have the bottom of the totem pole and it is on my broad shoulders. I will not let you fall. I predict a perfect pickem this week of 0-10.

Why didn't you go 7-3 instead of 6-4?  :dunno:

Week 1: Northwestern surprised many,
Week 2: It is obvious now that UGA is weak.
