Title: Should I stay or should I go? Post by: N.AL-Tider on September 17, 2015, 05:28:23 PM Working for a while out in Colorado Springs, CO and would love to catch a college game while out here. My first pic would be to go watch the Air Force Falcons play but they are playing away at Michigan State so that option is out the window. The only other option that I'm aware of is driving to Denver to watch Colorado State take on Colorado. That will probably be a great game however, it starts at 5:00 Mountain time which is 6:00 Central. Bama plays OM at 8:15 so by the time the Colorado State/Colorado game is over it will be nearly halftime of the Bama game. I would still have to drive back to Colorado Springs and by the time I got back to my hotel the game would likely be over and I wouldn't get to watch any of it. I don't really want to go to a restaurant to watch the rest of the Bama game either because it would likely be difficult to find one playing our game... Whatdayathink?

I have a smart phone with 1GB of data. Problem is, I ain't smart enough to stream it... and my battery wouldn't last long enough to see much of it... :'(Title: Re: Should I stay or should I go? Streaming video eats up the data. If it were me, I would do what KokoPuf suggested and watch the first half of the game and book it down the road to a TV. Title: Re: Should I stay or should I go? That, and my experience with cell coverage during a football game is sketchy. (Imagine 100K Bama fans in the stadium trying to catch the ending of a close Florida at Kentucky this Saturday.) I know exactly what you're talking about, however, I think there will be a few less people at the Colorado - Colorado State game. :lol2: Title: Re: Should I stay or should I go? Post by: ricky023 on September 17, 2015, 11:14:36 PM Reach down inside and see what you feel in your gut and go with that. Gibbs always goes with his gut and it makes him a winner everytime. RTR!
Title: Re: Should I stay or should I go? Post by: pmull on September 18, 2015, 06:48:12 AM Definitely go. Enjoy another college experience. I doubt it will be as big a deal as in the south but it will still be fun.
I lived in Nebraska for 6 years and the company I worked for got a bunch of season tickets and each division manager would get two tickets to two games a year. I always used the tickets and went to the games and had a good time. I have traveled a lot in my line of work and I always go to baseball games or play a round of golf if you can work it in your schedule. People do site seeing in different ways, sporting events is as good a way as any. Title: Re: Should I stay or should I go? Post by: 2Stater on September 18, 2015, 07:19:57 AM Definitely go. Post by: N.AL-Tider on September 19, 2015, 04:30:20 PM Ok, so here is my plan. I got a ticket to the game in Denver. I also found a restaurant close by where the Alabama alumni Assoc. meets so I'm gonna try and go there to watch the last quarter or half of the Bama game...wearing a Bama shirt and getting a few questions and comments. So far these folks have been pretty nice. Even a local CU affiliated radio DJ saw me and spoke. He even gave me a CU cap...I'm wearing it but turned around backwards...
Title: Re: Should I stay or should I go? Post by: N.AL-Tider on September 20, 2015, 01:30:20 AM Well, I left after the 4th quarter started in the CO/CO State game and went to the restaurant. IT WAS PACKED! So I drove back to my hotel and sat in the lobby to watch the last of the Bama game.

Sorry you had to miss more of the game than you wanted to, but it's good to hear that the Alumni Association is thriving out there! |
