Title: Cam Looks Lost in First Start Post by: Marshal Dillon on August 20, 2011, 07:28:58 AM I really don't think anyone can expect a rookie to look good, but I think Cam is going to have a whole lot of these kind of days.
Cam Newton appeared hesitant Friday night in his first NFL start. It's not a look he wears well. "Of course my head was spinning many different ways," he said. Newton, the Carolina Panthers' prized rookie quarterback, wasn't a passing or running threat in Friday's 20-10 loss against the Miami Dolphins. In fact, he was a bit timid. He didn't wear that look well, either. http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/08/20/11/Newton-not-yet-ready-for-starting-role/landing.html?blockID=551058&feedID=3722 Title: Re: Cam Looks Lost in First Start Post by: 2Stater on August 20, 2011, 07:41:31 AM Quote Asked if he's done enough to win the starting job, Newton's answer was simple. "No, sir," Understatement of the year! Title: Re: Cam Looks Lost in First Start Post by: Jamos on August 20, 2011, 08:28:28 AM Scam gets no sympathy from me.
Title: Re: Cam Looks Lost in First Start Post by: McBaman on August 20, 2011, 10:26:55 AM Maybe $Cam is beginning to realize that this ain't a take home test in basket weaving like he used to get at the Barn. It takes real brains to be a good NFL QB. If he's the Carolina starter, God help them.
Title: Re: Cam Looks Lost in First Start Post by: shady_d4 on August 20, 2011, 02:49:48 PM I think once McElroy got settled in he looked better than cammy did. I am just guessing but the problem could've been the complexity of the calls from the sidelines. No more #13 plays like he told Gruden on espn. :-\

At the barn he did not call the plays in the huddle or change plays at the line of scrimmage. All that was done from the bench. It will take him several years to learn what a pro style QB needs to know.
