Title: AP Poll Top 25
Post by: Marshal Dillon on September 20, 2015, 02:04:18 PM
I'm confused about the logic involved this week. Tide dropped 10 spots but Ole Miss jumped 11 spots. So, Bama is good enough to elevate Ole Miss, but bad enough to drop 10. I don't get it.

Quote
The complete AP Top 25:

1. Ohio State (3-0) -- 42 first-place votes

2. Michigan State (3-0) -- 7 first-place votes

3 (tie). TCU (3-0)

3 (tie). Ole Miss (3-0) -- 11 first-place votes

5. Baylor (2-0)

6. Notre Dame (3-0)

7. Georgia (3-0)

8. LSU (3-0)

9. UCLA (3-0)

10. Florida State (3-0)

11. Clemson (3-0)

12. Alabama (2-1)

13. Oregon (2-1)

14. Texas A&M (3-0)

15. Oklahoma (3-0)

16. Arizona (3-0)

17. Northwestern (3-0)

18. Utah (3-0)

19. USC (2-1)

20. Georgia Tech (2-1)

21. Stanford (2-1)

22. Wisconsin (2-1)

23. BYU (2-1)

24. Oklahoma State (3-0)

25. Missouri (3-0)

Don't forget that Auburn only dropped 12 spots after they almost loss to JSU.  These AP pollsters must be about as smart as Joey Galloway.  Even with all of the mistakes we made last night, we still would have beaten a lot of the teams that are currently ranked ahead of us.

We will see where we are at again in 2 weeks when we play UGA.

There is no doubt that media America would like to get Bama totally out of the playoff picture. I still feel though that if Bama by some chance can run the table they should make it if provided there are no other SEC team in the top four.

Well you have to think about it, we got beat, anyway you add it. Now the media can have a field day with us on how bad we are, drop out of the race. Something they have always wanted to do, we handed it to them and they are going to use it against us and all the SEC if they can. JMHO. RTR!

Don't sweat it. They still have to play tough teams like Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers, & Iowa. Those teams will expose them.

Northern Illinois exposed Ohio State on Saturday, but OSU still escaped with a win and stayed at #1.  Had that been an SEC team it would have dropped a few spots

Could someone explain how Stanford beats USC)41-31), but USC is still ranked ahead of them?

And beat them at their own place, at that.

You know the polls have done that many times & it's maddening. USC was #6 & I think Stanford was unranked.

Yep.  The problem is the voters are not quite as smart as Joey Galloway.
