Title: Coker had the flu against Ole Miss?
Post by: Catch Prothro on September 28, 2015, 06:51:53 PM
I was skimming an article on SB Nation, and came across this:

Quote
Not a surprise, really. Coker was able to move the ball against Ole Miss when he wasn't running for his life or throwing questionable-looking passes on terrible routes by the wide receivers. To his credit, Coker was playing with a flu ...

If this is true, it could explain why Bateman was named starter without any prior starting experience in such a big game.

Anyone know about this?

I've seen that rumor too.  I have no idea if it is accurate.

He had a 100 plus temp. I feel like a virus was going through the team during that period of time because Henry missed 2 days practice last week with tonsillitis and that was right after the Ole Miss game.

Maybe that virus will hit Ole Miss v. Florida this Saturday.

I could get behind a campaign like that...

??? The fans at OM know that these young men had to be sick. If they were in their right mind they would have been to scared to commit 5 turnovers no matter what. So yes they had to have a high fever.  RTR!

I think the game announcers mentioned it once.

So why play a sick quarterback?

So why play a sick quarterback?
Because your healthy qb ain't getting the job done...

You know this may be the answer to both QB's but if so, my question still stands why not get Blake in there and get him ready for maybe 2 or 3 years of the same QB in the system?  RTR!

If I remember correctly, A.J. stayed amazingly healthy

At least he must have taken his flu shot.

It looks like Florida players are the ones with the flu this week.  Coincidence?   :tinfoil:
