The facilities apparently haven't been updated, fan expectations are high, kids today don't remember Miami being all that good... Actually I remember Miami being rather pedestrian, back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their defense was good; no offense at all. BTW, it's official now: http://www.hurricanesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28700&ATCLID=210450744 Title: Re: Twitter reporting Al Golden fired Post by: hscoach on October 25, 2015, 07:13:16 PM They don't have home stadium and have to travel 40 miles, I think, to play at the Dolphins stadium. Other facilities need upgrading also from what was talked about by others.
Title: Re: Twitter reporting Al Golden fired Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 25, 2015, 08:14:01 PM Memphis or Houston head coach to Miami? :popcorn2: Cristobal. Yep, I forgot him. He has been mentioned by the "analysts." :dunno: Title: Re: Twitter reporting Al Golden fired Post by: 2Stater on October 25, 2015, 08:16:35 PM They were on the cusp of shutting their football program down before Schnellenberger resurrected the program.

The Miami job is vastly overrated. A private school with a 16,000 enrollment & a very small fan base. Even during their heyday in the 80's & 90's they had few home sellouts unless they were playing a huge game like Notre Dame, FSU, or Florida. The university is actually in the city Coral Gables, a very upscale town. :dog: |
