Hey all.

We have a dedicated owner (Thank you Supercoach), nice software, and a blank slate.  Please take a moment to look around and offer your suggestions.  There is a lot more work that will be done.  This is just a functional beginning.

I thought TS shutting down was going to be pretty bad thing
found out I was wrong and this has tons of potential

there are a couple of things that I could suggest but I'll wait

I don't have any specific suggestions at the moment, but wanted to offer my assistance if needed. I am an IT Consultant with a bit of a nerd background  ;D

I have done some basic forum development in the past for 200-300 users so if you need any help with anything I'll be glad to put in some time with you to continue improving things here.

Explain the e-cred. How is that determined? And what are the statuses after gilmer? How many posts to move on to each new status?

I'm not sure how this applaud or boo stuff works but I booed smitty :)

What about adding a Religion section for daily devotional and prayer for people who need it?

What about adding Spell Check to our Post boxes? I seems to help sometimes when I misspell words. Some of us fast typers tend to hit the wrong keys.  ;D

How about for the different tiers of post levels we go back to what TS had way-back-when: something like Gilmer, Wade, Stabler, Barker, Alexander, etc.

I would love to know what customizations we can make to the mobile site. I browsed from my droid tonight, it was serviceable. Even able to post successfully. Would love it if we could make that better!

Need some speed.  The in-game thread was painfully slow.  Thanks for anything you guys can do.

I hit your e-cred + button a couple of times last night
and the count went up .
not sure how this works really but I saw the total on your points go to a higher number
and it did on mine when you did it I believe .

so ... someone in the know can answer ???
I would like to know too ...
if you get a custom name title does it cost e-cred points ?
or if your rank changes  ?

Well I am like a little lost lamb but I am learning from all the big dogs here how things work. It won't be look I can hold my own in the site. lol. RTR!

It is just a simple counter.  I'm not sure how useful it will be, but I like it so far.  Just a way to give somebody a pat on the back, or smack down win called for.  :)

So basically when you click applaud their e-cred goes up by 1.  When you click boo it goes down by 1.  Once you vote for someone you can't vote for them again for an hour.

There aren't any permissions or special benefits associated with it, it is just to let the "gilmers" know who the reputable people are when they first come.  We all know post count doesn't tell the story.  At least this way it is not base on post count, but it is possible for people to get together and game the system.  We'll have to see how it works out.  I may replace it with something a little more sophisticated down the road.

Is it just me, or is the color scheme more pink than crimson? Just wondering. I'm sure you guys are working on it, and it's not really a big deal. I just don't want Bama to change their nickname to the Pink Tide? LOL

It looks more red to me. RTR!

Yep, this was just a quick and dirty red version of the original blue theme that came with the software.  I am working on some real graphics for the site and I hope to have something in place by the end of the weekend, if not sooner.

Things are looking good. I will be spending most of my forum time here at CRS, and I want to thank you for going through the trouble to start this site for us nomads from Tidesprotz. One question. I was wondering if there was a way to do something similar to TS and WA where you can view your post in the forum after you post. Right now, it goes straight back to the index after I post something (unless I am missing something, which is what my wife would probably say  ;D). Thanks again, bro, and keep up the good work.

There is also an option to take you back to the same topic after you post in case you want to continue reading.  I think it is in the profile section somewhere to turn it on.  This software has tons of options.  I'm still learning my way around as well.

I need more smileys.    :(

Yep, it's on the to do list.  I know we need a popcorn and a rotfl and maybe a couple of lol's.  Are there any others that are just missing?

Yes, that is a must.  I might make an "ALA" and "BAMA" set too.  We will need those before this fall.  :)

SCoach, would it be difficult to allow us to have the small emoticons again as an option?  The big ones are so large they break up the sentence patterns.

OK you should see the little ones now.  You can now select your smiley set in the profile section.  I don't have small versions of all of the new ones right now, but I will try to resize them as time permits.

Hey SUPERCOACH how about adding a Spell Checker to our Post box? I know I spell wrong sometimes and I am sure others do also. God Bless! RTR!

Well, I thought about that Ricky but mine already has a spell checker.  I think it might be the browser though.  I am using Google chrome.  I will look into it for you though.

I have been looking into adding a spell checker.  It looks pretty complicated.  The forum software supports it, but you need special software on the server.  The software you need for the server appears to be obsolete and no longer supported.  There are a few people who have tried to use it but it crashes the server.  So for the short term I guess the easiest way to get a spell checker would be to just use Google Chrome for you browser.  Personally I like Chrome much better than Internet Explorer.  If you want to try it out you can get it here:
