Title: AJ Starting in Monday Night Football Tonight
Post by: bamaphil on December 28, 2015, 07:06:56 PM
The Bengals are visiting the Broncos.  AJ gets his second career start while Dalton's thumb is healing.  Kickoff in 25 minutes.

AJ led the Bengals down the field for a TD on a 14 play drive on the opening possession.  He made great throws and decisions. He's looking like a legit NFL QB.

Absolutely! The pass to Green for the TD was perfect. Green made a great catch.

Apparently, splitting McCarron out at WR fooled them.

14-0 Bengals.

Bengals also have Andre Smith on the OL and Dre Kirkpatrick at CB.  Team full of Bama players, no wonder they're going to have a first round bye in the playoffs.

Ron Jaworski is impressed with his passing but the WR's are awesome, too. Nice to have a good team around our QB.

The running game is getting stuffed in the 2nd half. They need to turn AJ loose and let him throw the ball if they want to win this game.

Yep.  Offense is stagnant. Broncos have the momentum.

Things not going well for the Bengals in the second half.  McCarron with a chance for a come-from-behind win.

If Green had not stopped on his route, the Bengals would be ahead right now.

Broncos have best defense in NFL and the best pass rush. Bengals pass blocking very iffy on many occasions. AJ not facing Vandy or Barn defense.

Overall, a very well played game by AJ.  Monday Night Football on the road against the best defense in the NFL with playoff implications, and he made great throws and good decisions.  It's a shame the game ended on a bobbled snap.

Early in the game it appeared the Broncos were daring AJ to beat him, and he did.  They made some adjustments after that and shut down the Bengals' offense.

See why AJ McCarron said 'It's on me' after Cincinnati's overtime loss
(http://media.al.com/alphotos/photo/2015/12/28/-ea72fbcca5dfbb44.jpg)Denver outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware recovered a fumble by Cincinnati quarterback AJ McCarron to seal the Broncos' 20-17 overtime victory over the Bengals on Monday night.

Yeah, AJ played better than expected, but lost in OT 20-17.

Kiss another opportunity goodbye!   :-*

Blame the second half woes on the Cincy coaching staff. Plays were sent in late and AJ was calling for the snap with very little time left. That made it easy for Denver to anticipate the snap count. They were all over the O line and AJ like a cheap suit.

AJ Green forgot to show up in the second half. He couldn't block a lick on the wide out screens, nor when one of his own players was running downfield, and needed one from him. It was also a killer when he nearly stopped his route on the post pattern that would have easily been a TD.

I know AJ will beat himself up for bobbling the snap, but the loss was not all on him.
