Title: Steelers v Bengals, AJ Starting
Post by: Marshal Dillon on January 09, 2016, 06:37:18 PM
Chiefs killing Texans 30-0 right now. AJ starts for Bengals tonight. This game is always a blood feud. Expect very physical play, probably a few personal fouls. Game is on CBS @ 7 pm.

AJ looking confident so far. He has to have some pass protection, though.

I think he's only caught one so far for 5 yds.

Game has been plodding & emotional. 15-7 Steelers with 12 minutes left. Rothlisberger injured & out with Landry Jones playing QB.

Game is getting more interesting.  Bengals score a TD after a pass interference call on an AJ to AJ pass to the 2 yd line.

Bengals are driving again, to midfield, 8 minutes left.  AJ threw a nice pass across the middle, not perfect but catch-able, to an open receiver but it went through his hands.

Rothlisberger out injured.

Dre Kirkpatrick out injured.

18 yd pass AJ across the middle, this one caught.   Followed by another catch, this one AJ to AJ.  AJM getting some rhythm.  First down Bengals on the Steelers 25

Rothlisberger back in.  Clearly not 100 percent.  He is completing short passes, sidearm passes.  Time is ticking 32 seconds left.  Pitt out to their 40 yard line.

Fourth down and three.  28 seconds left.

First down Pitt across midfield, no timeouts left.  22 secs

Incomplete...   WHAT?  flag on Cincy defense, personal foul, blow to the receiver head.  15 yard penalty, Pitt on the 32, would make it a 49 yard FG.  Puts Pitt within FG range.

Can you believe the absolute stupidity of the Bengals & a deliberate hit to the head by #55? These Bengals deserve to lose this game. Plus, the coaching is stupid.

The Bengals defenders are a bunch of losers, hotheads, & thugs. Bengals hand a victory to the Steelers. Pac Man Jones strikes again. Classless, incompetent play calling, cheap shots by Bengals & they cost themselves the game. Never seen anything like this before.

A second penalty on Cincy after the play, while the receiver was walking off the field.  Another 15 yards.   Gives the Steelers a 35 yd FG kick.

FG good.  Steelers 18  Cincy 16

No wonder Cincy never wins a playoff game.

Game over, Cincy blew it.

RB fumbles when Cincy can run clock
Steelers barely across midfield, time running out when
30 yards of penalties on Cincy, putting Steelers into good FG range

Game over, Cincy blew it.

Pac Man Jones is a goner for sure. Maybe the coach & Jeremy Hill, too. No excuse for blowing the game.

Worst officiated game I've ever seen. Pacman Jones is a thug, but he led with his shoulder to try and dislodge the pass, the Steelers db lead with his helmet and got off scott free. If you really looked at the replay of Hill's fumble, his knee was down. Total BS IMO. Piss poor officiating! But what else is new.

That's how I saw it.  AJ won the game, the thugs gave it back.  Now I remember why I never watch the National Felony League.  Nothing but a bunch of grown men acting like 2 year olds.

I'm a Saints fan, and even I can't imagine how bad this must hurt for Bengals fans.  AJ played like a champion.  Foure starts, four pretty solid performances.  He might draw some interest from teams desperate for a QB this offseason.

It took a huge effort for the Bengals to lose this game.
WTH?  They lost to a QB without a throwing arm, managed to fumble while running out the clock, couldn't stop runs or passes, then helped the inept Steelers with personal foul penalties to ensure a short (winning) field goal.

 :dunno:

Crazy finish.  AJ played well, but the Bengals (as a team) don't deserve to win!

Maybe I get a better understanding now for some of the antics in college football, they're just prepping for the NFL. I'm like SC, after watching some of the game last night I realize why I have no interest in professional football muggery or maybe it's better name is thuggery. I was impressed with the efforts of AJ though and I hope he can get traded to a team that represents the sport better if there is such a thing in the NFL. :dunno:

??? why did the officials allow the Steelers linebackers coach on the field which resulted in the THUG jones getting the penalty?

The Steelers WR was injured on the play, and there were several coaches on the field.

From the few quotes I've seen, it sounds like AJ won the locker room even though Bengals lost the game.  AJ's quotes about winning/loosing as a team were great.

It's really up to Bengals ownership to make some personnel changes and get rid of some of these thugs.  They may loose fan support if they don't.  And if Marvin Lewis can't control his players then maybe he should go too.

Also, look for the Commish to hand out some harsh fines & suspensions. The image of the NFL was damaged by that game last night.

The out-of-control LB for Bengals is Vontaze Burfict, #55 who was so crazy all game. They had him on the sidelines talking to him to calm him down before the Steelers final winning drive & he still acted out. So much for team play. The Cincinnati fans were just as bad. Cheering the injury to Rothlisberger & hurling bottles at him as he was leaving on the cart. Shameful & an embarrassment for the city.
