Title: Armour: Case to be Made for Nick Saban as Best Coach Ever
Post by: Marshal Dillon on January 10, 2016, 05:14:42 PM
Not bad.

Quote
By winning a fifth national championship Monday night, Nick Saban could lay claim to another title.

That of the greatest college coach ever.

Not that Saban will waste even a second entertaining such debate. His legacy, where it ranks, how he compares to the other names on the list — anyone who has been around him for, oh, all of a minute or so knows how unseemly Saban finds such discussions.

I have thought about this and there is no way we lose at Alabama. The wining est 2 coaches belong to us.
Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant in his era was the greatest college football coach ever. He took recruits first and got them educated and made young men out of them that even today they still serve their communities, states and country. His players are often honored in society for the things they strengthen. He also took undersized young men and made winning football players and champions out of them, as well as, coaches who went on to teach and train other young men to be champions.

Coach Nick Saban came up as a gas station worker and became one of the great defensive minds as well as head coach in his era of college football. He now like Coach Bryant trains and educates young men into becoming leaders of society in a world that knows no peace. He stands by and supports in areas of their lives and when troubles arise he doesn't just drop them, he helps to retrain and give 2nd and 3rd chances to improve ones knowledge. He teaches college football and as Coach Bryant prepares young men to take the next step in a field that they love the National Football League. We see his former players names mentioned among the elite in the next level but that is not all, if they did not graduate most of them come back and get that degree showing that education was taught to be important also. The legacy Coach Saban has is not if the next game is his final but when his next national Championship will be won because it has become common knowledge that he will so it is expected.

Today I say Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant was the greatest and Coach nick Saban was/is the greatest in their eras. There is no comparison even from the great names that has been mentioned through the shadows of time of college football. My first college football days of hearing the names and voices of Chris Economaki, Lindsey Nelson, Curt Gowdy, and Keith Jackson but oh how smooth would they be today in their first mention of the name of Coach Nick Saban Head Coach at the University of Alabama.
Tonight win or lose the legacy we are eyeing is the greatest. Even as bad as the people at ESPN, ABC dislike the football programs at the university of Alabama, greatest still prevails.
God Bless Alabama and God Bless America. RTR!

Great answer ricky.

I'm sure Saban would say something along the lines of how "greatest coach ever" is a media creation designed for them to ask the question.  He'd probably go on a rant about there were and are great coaches and their focus is winning football games, not having some arbitrary label put upon them by the media which does disservice to all coaches.

I'm  sure Saban would be more colorful...  to be a fly on the wall...   :lol2:
