Alabama appears to have completed its 2017 non-conference football schedule while getting started on the future.

Mercer, an FCS school in the Southern Conference, announced Thursday it will be playing in Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2017 and 2021. An Alabama spokesman confirmed it would be playing the two games.

Hey MD the reason I say a good schedule is because the weeks near lsu, msu, and auburn need a cupcake for a practice game and rest game near that time also. What do you think on it? RTR!

We can find cupcakes that are not FCS teams. It's like playing a high school. Playing them hurts us. We can find a cupcake in the FBS to play.

But it's like having a bye week for the team, and you can afford to take the whole family to the game without getting a 2nd mortgage.

I do not like scheduling FBS teams. I know we were looking for a cupcake but Mercer lost by 21 to Samford last year. They are not even a good FBS team. We need to schedule DI teams only.

The other three teams look good with Fresno St, Colorado and the big game with FSU.

FSU, Colorado St and Fresno are a decent trio.

Personally, I'd rather Bama have another bye week than schedule Mercer, but at least the younger players will have a chance to play.

Agree, plus Mercer just started playing football.

I wonder why we don't just schedule another off week then? Could this be so the young players can play and get some game time type action? RTR!

Sadly, it's about profits.

Maybe Mercer will take the beating like Michigan State did in 2012.  They'll see where they stand, and make adjustments accordingly!
