Title: Tidesports: Inside the tunnel: Kent State
Post by: pmull on September 02, 2011, 07:02:42 PM
Welcome to Inside the Tunnel, a weekly, close-up look at Alabama's upcoming football game that should make you the smartest fan on the pre-game barstool. Throughout the season each Friday, we give you an insider's look at the Crimson Tide and its upcoming opponent.

Quote
UA coach Nick Saban has said quarterbacks AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims will play three series each against the Golden Flashes, and will continue to rotate thereafter. With all eyes on the Crimson Tide's quarterback ongoing competition, Saban's script prevents any logical conclusions about a frontrunner to be drawn from playing time. That means performance will tell the only tale. Against the undermanned Golden Flashes, odds are both will look sharp. But if one commits a couple turnovers more than the other, the script against Penn State will be much more obvious to all. Consider Kent State to be scrimmage number three, of sorts, where the QB competition is concerned. Only this time, everyone's invited to watch.
