TCU FG

16-14 TCU, about 1:30 left in the 1st.  Game has potential.

Wow.  I just got home from an auction.  Looks like a fun game.  Thanks for the updates.

TCU came out in the second half and drove to inside the 5 and ended up missing a FG.

Baylor just scored on a bomb.

40-23 Baylor, 8:49 left in the 3rd.

I have been watching the game and didn't know anyone had a thread on it. Baylor came to play, period. TCU has had a Top Five defense in the NCAA the last 5 years but Bayor is wearing them out. Two long bombs for TD's and TCU has had penalties at key times to kill drives. They have missed 2 FG's. Now, we will see what TCU is made of now.

41-23 Baylor pending XP, 8:49 left in the 3rd.

THROW LONG and it works out.  What a missile of a throw.  If the stupid cameraman had followed it...  Replay was good.  Go Baylor.

That's the 2nd time that reciever has dropped a first down pass to kill a drive. TCU looks snakebit.

47-23 Baylor.

Yay we dont have to hear any TCU  :deadhorse: this year.

Who are these TCU CB's? They have been badly burned all night. The QB just throws it up and it gets caught. If this happened with Saban coaching, there would be dead bodies on the field right now.

I think also this Griffin III character has some skillz.

He's got one of those Redstone Arsenal arms.  His passes are on a line.  Plus, as said, the CBs can't cover.

Yeah, that's what I noticed. On a line and right to the WR over the CB. Outstanding accuracy and arm strength.

Do you all think TCU can pull he miracle comeback? I think you will see a whole lot of blitzing by Baylor in the 4th quarter. I hope they don't start playing not-to-lose.

Now I know why TCU is struggling. They have 4 returning starters on the D and 4 on the offense, kinda like Auburn, except they have only 7 starters.

 :D

TCU down by 16 now.  But their comeback will have to come without a running QB.  He's cramping again.

The Baylor QB is 17/20 for 327 yards. Plus, it looks like Baylor is playing not-to-lose by running the ball. That's a losing strategy.

Title: Re: Baylor vs TCU
Post by: Chechem on September 02, 2011, 10:01:38 PM
Will Baylor keep throwing or try to run the clock (with 13 minutes to go)?

First 2 plays after kickoff, Baylor runs for little.
3rd and 7 = incomplete on panicked throw by QB.  Punt.  Woah Nellie.

Another key mistake/penalty by TCU on the kick return. They lose out on a big return.

At least they got their money's worth; 2 illegal blocks on same return.

Then TCU runs it back AGAIN.

Baylor has a huge weakness in their kick return game. They have been burned a couple of times tonight.

True.  And it's especially evident because TCU has such team speed.

Wow. First Baylor starts playing not-to-lose on offense and now the defense is playing the prevent with no pass rush. They are courting with disaster. This might be the biggest choke job of the past 15 years. Blame the coach.

Blame the coach and wake up Smitty.  He went to bed when Baylor "had it in hand".

If this coach chokes this and loses, he should be fired. There is no excuse for this except extremely poor coaching. TCU has done all of this in about 5 minutes of game time. Incredible. Let's see if Baylor runs the ball on first and second down then passes under heavy pressure.

Yep, Baylor is playing not-to-lose. I hope they lose now and teach the coach a lesson. They ran the ball and threw two 2 yard passes, playing it safe. The fans should be booing like crazy and let the coach know what they think of his play calling.

Title: Re: Baylor vs TCU

Right now, with TCU down by 8, I'd take them for $100 to win, even with bad odds.  Baylor is in MAJOR trouble, blowing oil, and looking beaten.

Title: Re: Baylor vs TCU

It's just too easy now for TCU.  Baylor is LOST.  A 2-pt conversion and we're tied at 47.

Wanna bet Baylor runs the ball and plays it "safe" with throws 2 yard passes?

Announcer just said it, Baylor is falling apart. The QB running with the ball and not putting it away.

Only question left is whether TCU will score once or twice before it ends.

How can Baylor score 47 points and lose??

I wonder if TCU gets the lead, will Baylor continue to run the ball and throw 2 yard passes.    :eyeroll:

48-47 TCU with 4:27 left.  Maybe TCU can score 3 more times.  :dunno:

At the rate Baylor is melting and the awful play calling, TCU will probably score at least another 14 points.

Glad this game wasn't on the weekly pick 'em!

Where was Gary Patterson and his vaunted TCU defense?  He's widely considered the 2nd best defensive HC.  Of course we all know who is first, and he wouldn't allow 48 friggin' points to anybody, especially the likes of the Baptist Baylor Bears.

He had 4 returners on the D. He lost all his best players from last year. Stil, giving up 50 to Baylor is shocking.
