12:19: Four-star running back B.J. Emmons, who committed to Alabama last year, has signed with the Tide.

11:24: Four-star wide receiver Ahmmon Richards has committed to Miami. Alabama and Auburn were the other finalists.

Asiasi to Michigan.

Bummer.  That's one that was iffy, but we'd hope to snatch up.

Team Recruiting Rankings

ESPN

1. LSU 2. FSU 3. ALABAMA 4. OLE MISS 5. OHIO STATE

RIVALS

1. ALABAMA 2. FSU 3. OHIO STATE 4. CLEMSON 5. LSU

24/7 SPORTS

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED

1. ALABAMA 2. OHIO STATE 3. FSU 4. LSU 5. OLE MISS

I don't believe that there is a nickel's worth of difference between the top 5 recruiting class but seeing Bama at #1 in three of those sure is easy on the eyes...

We did what we needed to do; landed some 5-star players to keep up the winning.

When several of our top-notched juniors announced they were staying for their senior years, THAT was a great recruiting day.
But our outside recruiting took a hit.  It meant freshmen coming in would be redshirted or riding the bench, so many went elsewhere.  But we kept the ELITE recruits that we needed to sign.  We're in great shape.

LOOK, ALABAMA STILL HAS THE BEST TALENT IN THE NATION BY FAR.  THAT'S WHAT MATTERS!!

The number 1 thing I count as a first place finish is to get our positions filled we needed and plus to steal some players other teams wanted the worst. I believe from what I see we did both. Congratulations to our coaching staff for such a great recruiting job and thank you Jesus for answering the prayers of those players who came to you with the word Alabama. RTR!

Pretty impressive.  Not sure Bama ever wins ESPN's ranking system based on their top 300.  Rivals is usually the most detailed.

I'm very happy with who we ended up with. I had heard we were getting Juarez, but with all the LB's we ended up with, plus the fact that it is a long way from Ca to Al, I think the handwriting was on the wall.

Considering we moved from the #10 recruiting class to #1 or #2, depending on who you listen to, in one fell swoop, we made a major haul today. This was particularly impressive with us losing a major recruiter in Kirby Smart.

Kudos, once again, to Saban and staff for another job well done.  :worship: :worship: :worship:

Yes, according to 247Sports and Scout.  Rivals has us with 5 5-stars.  I'm not sure about ESPN, because I don't have insider access there, but I read where somebody said that, according to ESPN, none of our recruits were 5-stars.  :o  That doesn't make any sense to me, though.

Sometimes, between comments about lost shoes and times gone by, you insert posts which a latent reader might think without obvious relevance.  To avoid this common error, drop the intervening phrase so that the subject-verb relationship is clear.

Now, are you referencing a particular "primma donna" [sic]?

I agree that it's hard to tell much from the video, as far as RB skills.  What I see is a 5'10" 195 lb kid who has a lot of acceleration, 40 yd dash at 4.4 secs.  He's fast, he's an athlete.  Who better than Nick Saban to recognize the kid's natural athleticism and see the potential, if developed properly at the right position.

A few years ago, Bama recruited another HS player that was: Ht:5'10"; Wt:195 lbs; 40: 4.4 secs.  That was HTWMI.

So maybe this kid could be the next Ingram (he certainly has the Wildcat down) or maybe he'll transition to DB.  Worth the pick.

It all only reinforces that Saban simply does recruiting better than anyone else. Granted, some other services crowned different recruiting champions, but no program has ever had this kind of consistency.

"I think this class sort of reflects some of the needs that we have,” said Saban, who still has an open slot and would like to add another offensive playmaker or defensive end. “You don't get everything that you want all the time.”

But he comes the closest, and has compiled what might be the most loaded college football team in terms of talent that anyone has ever seen.

Alabama had a whopping 18 5-star players in 2015, but only two of them have since departed, running back Derrick Henry and defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson. It already had developing 5-star players ready to compete for those spots, and many of its recent major award winners came in as 4-star prospects (including Mark Ingram, Amari Cooper, AJ McCarron, Barrett Jones and C.J. Mosley).

CNS spoke very highly of him and I felt like he thought Bama may have stolen one with his signing. I got home and had to know more about him so I found a video and watched. I am very impressed with what I saw on the video and I can understand why CNS feels he may have stolen one from Oklahoma. For those of you that haven't seen any video of him, take a look.

Remains to be seen.  I'm a little, very little, impressed with that video.  What I see is a good runner taking snaps from the wildcat playing with a bunch of white boys from a tech school.

Great story about Jacobs.  Seems to fit the mold of kids who've come to Bama as relatively unknowns and flourished under Saban.

We still could get WR Demitris Robinson, Apparently, he didn't qualify academically for Stanford.

 :popcorn2:

Hells bells, neither would anybody on this forum!!   :dunno:
I think  Hannibal Lecter, MD could qualify for Stanford... He's one smart cookie... 8)

If they have a time limit on their tests, he may not fare so well.  :lol2:
    That right there is funny, I don't care who you are, that's funny.  But I'd hate to be you when he sees that...

He'll darn sure know what I'm talking about.

I had not read or heard much about Bama running back signee Joshua Jacobs until Coach Saban discussed him with the REC this afternoon. CNS spoke very highly of him and I felt like he thought Bama may have stolen one with his signing. I got home and had to know more about him so I found a video and watched. I know that Saban was very high on this kid and wanted him badly. That in itself tells me there's something to him.

Yep, maybe he runs the football that well when someone hands it off to him or as well on kick returns. I was looking more at his cuts how he made folks miss on tackles.

Yep, Saban knows his stuff on the recruiting trail, and he sees potential there, like he did in Tyren Jones.  Just kidding there.

I was mainly referencing the fact that most of the defenders in that video were a bunch of slow footed white boys practicing in the art of arm tackling.  Now, the kid put up some impressive numbers, and I saw him bowl over a few 165# white boys, but now he's in the big league.

That being said, maybe he will be out 4th HTW.
