Title: SEC Fared Well, 10-2 Opening the 2011 Season
Post by: Chechem on September 04, 2011, 07:20:00 AM
Only Georgia and Ole Miss FAIL.  Biggest disappointment = tie (UGA/Boogers).  Biggest surprise = USCe (weird game)

The rest of the football nation hates the SEC nation. I would like to blame it on the boogers eaters in the west Ga. red ant bed. No one with any sense, other than the NCAA, believe cam newton didn't know his dad was shopping him.

Good people at the NCAA are working on that.  Concentrate on fixing our OL.

Karma comes in the form of Miss. St. next weekend. The horseshoe no longer falls out of Cheezenik's arse. That loss will be the first in a long string of them for the boogs.

I hope that game is not on TV at the same time as Bama, I want to watch the train wreck.

And I don't think it will be close, either.

The barn / Miss State game is the 11:20 game (the same slot we had with Kent State). We play at 2:30. Their game will be late in the 4th quarter when we kick off.

In both SEC losses the announcers made it sound like our opposition won NCs. Ole Miss is arguably the bottom of the SEC so the BYU win was, at best, predictable. But since when does winning over a #19 team (BSU over UGA) gaurantee you a spot in the NCG? I guess one could take all that as a compliment.

And a while ago (when I had TV) an ESPN announcer pointed out that Boise "had opened the season against a ranked team for the last 3 years".

What he left off was, "they played rank teams every game thereafter".

The announcers failed to point out that while UGA has talent they have been under performing for several years and their coach is on the hot seat. Beating UGA should help your resume but more work is to be done if you want to play for a BCSNC.

Forgot to add, "but played a HS schedule the rest of the year".  Bob Davies, last night, pointed out the SEC has won 5 NCs. He forgot to mention, "In a row".

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Boise isn't ranked in the top 3 after beating a powerhouse like Georgia.

The toughest game Boise has left on their schedule is TCU which has already been beaten by powerhouse Baylor.

The stage is set for Boise State and the polls, and I'm anxious to see it.

It seems to me that no radical poll moves are traditionally made after the first week. The voters dole out a pass to teams since most play "gimmes" the opening week. OU,Bama,LSU,BSU.
