Title: Tide finds new weapon in Maze
Post by: Terrie1959 on September 04, 2011, 01:34:45 PM
Marquis Maze shined in his first game as the Tide’s primary receiver, racking up eight receptions en route to 118 yards and a touchdown. With Darius Hanks having to sit out in order to use his medical red-shirt and Duron Carter not playing due to the lack of preparation he had with the team, Maze carried much of the weight of the passing game on his shoulders on Saturday.

I think he looks a little stronger this year.

And much more mature.

Maze had a good game. I have always thought he was strong for his size. He is exciting to watch when he gets the ball in his hands.

If Maze can play well again against Penn State, and we can get some push on the OL, we'll be okay for the remainder of the season.  I think we'll be okay now that we've seen AJ play well.

I can give him credit for one thing and that is he gives it 110% when he's on the field whether as a receiver, returning kicks, or blocking for someone. I do worry about him taking so many hits, but that's football.
