Title: Alabama Men's Basketball WHIPS Rival, lowlife Auburn
Post by: Jamos on February 27, 2016, 06:05:17 AM
Alabama will begin a two-game homestand when it takes on the Auburn Tigers on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum. Saturday's game vs. Auburn is sold out, marking the fifth home sellout of the season -- the most sellouts in a single season at Alabama since the selling out six during the 2006-07 campaign.

This game is BIG.  We win, and we have a chance at the DANCE.  We lose, and kiss it goodbye!

This game is very big for the boys today in keeping the tournament hopes alive. There are reports saying that Bama will be hosting some big name basketball recruits for this game including Terrance Ferguson what has already committed and is expected to sign his papers in April, the late signing period. There are also some big name football recruits in town for the Junior Camp that is going on and I would guess they probably have an invitation to the game as well.

Bama owes the Tigers one after the big loss to them down on the Plains earlier this year and I'm hoping Bama turns them every way but loose. RTR!!!!

I really hate that I can't be there for the game, but I will do my best to watch it on TV. They do indeed, have to win this one to have any chance of getting into the dance.

Wish you two could have been here for the game as well but we are just glad we still have you two and Kelly still around. ;) #+

Thanks Jamos! We're pretty glad to be around too.   :lol2:

Well one thing for sure if we lose this one I think we might be in the NIT. Auburn is not a team to help us make the tourney but it can sure make us out of the Big Dance. I think we need to really win out but we can do this only by beating auburn first. RTR!

Anybody know what channel the game is on? I can't seem to find it.

28-24 Tide. We are letting Auburn hang around instead of putting them away. Plus, we are fouling too much, again. 28-26.

Bama let Auburn back in the game in the 1st half. Now they have all the momentum and a 3 point lead.

Looks like the refs think everyone came there to see them. What a farce it's becoming with the refs.

We started 6/6 in FT's, but have gone 5/17 since. Incredible. 54-50 Tide.

Finally, we got Spencer, 6'9" forward, out of game by fouling out.

Both teams are crap shooting FT's. Obasohan taking over the game. 61-55 Tide.

39.9 left in game. 61-57 Tide. I hope they are taught how to rebound & block out in the offseason.

Tide wins despite itself. Luckily, Auburn is awful at FT shooting. 65-57 Tide.

I'm very proud of the way Bama finished. They hustled and made FT's down the stretch. They still have the mark of a team that knows how to finish.

Whew! I hope we can beat the likes of the rest of the games. We need a great finish to get into the Big Dance and I ain't sure this close to auburn is going to help. Can we finish with a 20 win season? RTR!

Next up, Arkansas in T-town on Wednesday. They are 1-8 on the road but they can be tough.

It was a normal game for Bama, rough and tough but yet another win. With 10 minutes left in the game I was giving up hope of pulling this one out so I changed the chair that I was sitting in and at the 5 minute mark look what happened, we had taken the lead and never looked back. I had just about used up all of my good luck charms and then I thought of the chair.  ;) RTR!!!

We took the barn' best shot and fought back to take control at the end of the game despite a terrible day at the free throw line. It was a must win and we got it.

Best crowd of the year and I think it helped. I am looking forward to packed houses for conference home games for years to come with CAJ in charge.

Jamos needs to get his rear in the right chair for the rest of the year.

No one talks about it when we win but I thought the officiating was terrible yesterday for both sides. At least they were consistently bad for both teams.
