A Club hazing victim

I have never understood hazing and what its purpose was., except some type of sick, demented act. This includes hazing of girls in high school.

If you want to know the true sense of hazing you ought to have been in service back in the 60's and 70's and went to the dispensary for being sick. You would really know what it was like. RTR!

Hazing was a common practice as part of the initiation into the Letter Club for athletes when I was in high school back in the 50's.  The must popular event was the "belt line" where all the club members lined up and took off their belts and those being initiated had to get down on all fours and crawl by as they busted your azz with their belts. Also remember running around the track till I puked.

Not saying it was right, but saying that's the way it was back then.  I seem to remember in later years some clubs took it much further and people were physically injured,  and then hazing was banned by most schools.

We were taken out to a place blindfolded and took all but our underwear off and had to run back to the AG building at school in order to be initiated into AG at school. RTR!

In high school letter club initiation was called "Hell Week". We had the belt line Leewillie talked about. Paddles were also used. Lots of running. During school hours they made a fool out of you in front of your classmates. The worst of all.. shaved head. I was proud of my mullet in those days.

We swallowed goldfish...
