Title: Is John Calipari correct to be angry over Kentucky's No. 4 seed?

Three hours after his team edged Texas A&M in Sunday's SEC title game, Kentucky coach John Calipari spotted something that caught his attention.
The selection committee seeded the Aggies one line above his Wildcats.
Texas A&M snared a No. 3 seed in the West Region and will meet Horizon League tournament champ Green Bay in the opening round. Kentucky received a No. 4 seed in the loaded East Region and will begin against America East champion Stony Brook.

Well if John wants to be upset he needs to remember that if you every game you can upset the people doing the ranking. Just go out and win it all. That to me is the way to show how upset you are. RTR!

If UK wins their games then there is nothing to complain about.  Now, if they go out and get beat... they should have played better ball... :dunno:

Ed Zachary! At least they're in.

I do see his point, though. They beat A&M, but received a lower seed than them.

I thought we beat TA&M one time and we didn't make it. RTR!

We did, Preacher, but unfortunately, down the stretch, we pulled a hamstring.

I watched an interview with him shortly after the brackets were announced. I agreed with everything he said. He was not whining about where UK was seeded. He said a team that is seeded low hurts the other teams not the team that is seeded out of position.

He did rip the committee over how they change the way they judge teams on a yearly basis. This year it is SOS, last year it was top 50 wins and the year before it was RPI. He was dead on with that complaint.

He was unhappy with the lack of respect the SEC received in general.

KY also received terrible positioning, with a potential second game v. Indiana followed by a potential third game v. UNC.  That's a tough path to the Sweet16.

Bingo!! I heard him on Finebaum and what he said was correct. What is the metric by which a team is judged every year? What is a team supposed to expect for itself if the Committee doesn't know what the proper measurement is for being in the Tourney? South Carolina got slapped for their pathetic non-conference schedule as they should have been. When they were 15-0 and played Bama, their SOS was like 250+. The record was a total sham. Bet they have a better non-conference schedule next season. Finebaum really ate Frank Martin's fanny up when he was whining about being left out of the Tourney.

Calipari complaining is like Bill Gates complaining he has too much money.

I an hoping Calipari uses this to fire up and motivate the team to win it all. Michigan State is capable of winning it all

I have no remorse for Calipari/Kentucky but I do feel that the basketball selection committee plays a little "get even" game with the SEC each year for  their success in the other sports.

 >:(, JAMOS you are so right. I have believed this since the early 90's actually since this new breed got in office. When coach Wimp and Hobbs was around it didn't seem so plain then.  RTR!
