What genius decides to name the school team after a turtle?  Could there be a more harmless mascot?

So far, but she's been rejected by mom.  The other one has nursed.  We're taking her to the vet in the morning to see if anything can be done, otherwise a humane, well you know.

I think I have to lean toward the Terps. While UGA's are an abomination to tradition, at least they don't have a turtle mascot and then a turtle design on the helmet. However, I think whoever is in charge of unis at both schools should be put in a room and forced to watch the barn/utah state game over and over on a loop.

That's what's weird.  They advertised the turtle helmets, then showed up in these ugly things.

I agree SC, Terrapins are scary, but those alligator snapping turtles we catch in the lakes and rivers here are dangerous. They are intimidating looking.

Almost makes you think the turtle helmet would have been better. That is just extremely painful to look at.

The flag of the state of Maryland consists of the heraldic banner of George Calvert, 1st Baron Baltimore. It is the only state flag in the United States to be based on English heraldry.

The black and gold design on the flag is the coat of arms of the Calvert family. It was granted to George Calvert as a reward for his storming a fortification during a battle (the vertical bars approximate the bars of the palisade). The red and white design is the coat of arms of the Crossland family, the family of Calvert's mother, and features a cross bottony. Since George Calvert's mother was an heiress, he was entitled to use both coats of arms in his banner.

Alabama wore their Nike Pro -Combat unis Saturday, but other than dark crimson square on front of jersey and larger numbers, it is not much different than the regular uniform. I hope they always wear the standard uniform. I wonder if Penn State has Nike Pro-Combat unis?
