--Saban says Da'Shawn Hand has done a nice job this spring. With Jonathan Allen out, he and Dalvin Tomlinson have gotten all the reps with the first team. They are extremely pleased with the progress he's made and that he could have contributed more last year with more opportunity.

--Saban says he gets concerned about a player playing two sports in relation to Keith Holcombe. Says they want him to play football but that he's concerned about the classes he's missed with baseball road trips. He thinks missed time could impact his football development.

--Lester Cotton has had a really good spring playing both left and right tackle. Mentions Korren Kirven's development as well. Saban said he's trying to give everyone a lot of turns to figure out the best five. ...

After a landmark recruiting class in 2013 that included Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Laquon Treadwell and Tony Conner, Freeze has consistently recruited well to Oxford. His recruiting prowess has helped Ole Miss to back-to-back premier bowl games (Peach and Sugar) and wins over Alabama in the last two seasons.

The recruiting success has also earned Ole Miss considerable backlash and the program is the subject of an NCAA investigation. Yahoo Sports reported in January the NCAA has charged Ole Miss with approximately 30 rules violations involving football, women's basketball and track and field. Freeze has maintained since the 2013 National Signing Day that his program does things right and has invited scrutiny to his practices.
