Title: Strange Early Top 25 Football Poll Predictions
Post by: Marshal Dillon on May 09, 2016, 10:56:18 AM
What do you folks think about some of these picks? Ohio State at #3 after losing 13 starters, Michigan #4 based on a lot of talk, UT Vols at #6, and so on. I really don't get some of these selections.

I hope Tennessee lives up to these expectations.I like the thought that we play so many of these teams in our regular season!

We're #1.  That's all that matters.

Florida at #11 is another stretch, along with #12 UCLA. Georgia at #17 is an interesting pick. Hard to know since Kirby is first year head coach. Ole Miss at #21 is a total miss. They lost their best players except for Chad Kelly. Ole Miss could be 1-3 in September after playing Alabama, FSU, & Georgia. I see them at 7-5 or 8-4 next year or worse.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tennessee give us our biggest challenge this year in Knoxville. They may even slip away at HOME and beat us , only to have to play us again in the SEC championship game. They have a proven QB who feels very comfortable playing against us. :dunno:
Never underestimate Kirby or Jim and old Les is waiting!

You make good points, especially about Les Miles. LSU is the great unknown. Has Miles really changed & going to let the OC devise a real passing attack instead of Fournette left, Fournette right, & Fournette uo-the-middle? If LSU can pass, look-out.

I hate being #1 at the start of the season. Every year we do that something jumps up and bites us. If we look back over time our worse loses I believe at least under CNS was when we started out #1. RTR!

Someone has to say that every year.

And you can substitute "Tennessee", "A&M", or "Auburn" there too.
