Title: "Iron Bowl could take a lesson in mutual respect from Alabama vs. Penn State"

Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, any more than it already has in flood-ravaged central Pennsylvania, and they'll play a football game not far from here Saturday afternoon.

The normal driving distance is 88 miles, but this time, it'll be longer. Local authorities are advising fans to find alternate routes because parts of Route 22/322, the main highway between the state capital and State College, are closed for a very good reason.

They're either under water or the water has caused the road itself to crack and buckle.

Good overview of the setting that awaits Alabama, and finally the point is made.  But I don't expect many people to start respecting the Booger fans, even if it's the right thing to do.

The fans wouldn't have so much respect for each other if we played every year.  What has developed between Alabama and Auburn (and Tennessee and LSU to a lesser extent) is the result of playing each other every year, and in recent years one or both teams has had a great deal at stake in the game leading to increased intensity from both fan bases.

Maybe.  From my point of view, I can respect Penn State and JoPa as long as they keep losing to us.

Plus, the Boogers are still Boogers.  No matter how unwelcome they are, they just stay around.  At least the PSU fans have the decency to go home after the game.  :dunno:

That is not what that supposed quote says. When it says, "...and the Creeks don't rise" it is referring to the Creek Indians not having an uprising. No one wanted to be out wondering around the country side if the Creeks were upset and having an uprising.

Creek Indians; really?  Cool.

"...and the Susquehanna don't rise" works this week too.  It's big-time flooded; its people... gone.
