What has developed between Alabama and Auburn (and Tennessee and LSU to a lesser extent) is the result of playing each other every year, and in recent years one or both teams has had a great deal at stake in the game leading to increased intensity from both fan bases.

Maybe. From my point of view, I can respect Penn State and JoPa as long as they keep losing to us. Plus, the Boogers are still Boogers. No matter how unwelcome they are, they just stay around. When it says, "...and the Creeks don't rise" it is referring to the Creek Indians not having an uprising.
