Saban ate Finebaum's lunch and then stole his jelly roll, lol!

In the top video, it looks like after the argument, everyone ends up laughing with CNS as he leaves.

Spoken like a true fan. Actually, Paul got his point across and stood his ground, just like Saban. Plus, using curse words & raising your voice doesn't mean you "won" an argument. That's the rationale Jim from Tuscaloosa has when he screams and name calls & thinks he won his argument.

I totally disagree. Finebaum may have held his ground, but he lost the argument about public discipline. Any idiot can hold his ground. CNS will handle it internally as he should. Finebaum was fishing for ratings. He may have won that end of it.

I believe the guys are being punished in an appropriate fashion assuming Cam didn't steal the gun and they really had been to a shooting range prior.  However, I will say that most Alabama fans would probably be screaming about any other coach being weak if he handled it this way and there was no lost game time.

If the players were guilty I don't care if they play for Tim-Buck-Too high school or University of Alabama they should be punished. If the man in charge or the ADA says he can charge them because of whatever reason then they are innocent until proven guilty. It is not an argument to me, it is a Fact of Law. This is not about anybody winning CNS did what had to be done in his program. If you don't like Alabama sports because of CNS decision then it is your loss not ours. RTR!

Everybody is jumping to conclusions about what happened, including PF. Only Hootie, Cam and CNS know what really happened. CNS has kicked players off the team who deserved it. If there was anything substantial to this case, I feel certain that Saban would administer something more severe.

A lot of us accuse groups such as Black Lives Matter, for jumping to conclusions before the facts come out. Some of those same people are jumping to conclusions on this. Makes me shake my head.

This confrontation should only add to CNS's magical powers of recruiting. I'm sure all recruits will get a chance to watch it and read about it.

That's what they were talking about on Media Days today on the SECNetwork. Recruits seeing that CNS "has their back". It will ineed help recruiting. But to me, the bigger picture is Finebaum and others in the media acting like pompous asses, assuming they know what happened to CR and HJ in Louisiana. Did the question about them need to be asked? Most certainly, but PF handled it badly, IMO.

I have followed this situation since it hit the news, and after all that is said and done, I think there is a lot more to this than has been told as yet.

Let's deal with the facts as we know them..these guys were in a park, AFTER HOURS, WITH DOPE, AND A GUN.

If that is not a receipe for trouble, I don't what is.   All I know is that NOTHING good happens after midnight, anywhere, anytime.

And let us not forget that CPBB had many such situations with his players, most notably Kenny Stabler. You know CPBB disciplined Kenny, but we never heard much about it..He had to send asst coaches to the coast to get Kenny out of bars many times. And all of us know the story of Joe Willie and the Sugar Bowl.

I think what most fans are troubled about is CNS not being open and public with his disciplinary actions..we are snoopy and purient people, and want to stir the sh&t up so it will stink.

I hope the thuggery is being weeded out..let us so hope.

I think what set CNS off was that every interview questioned how CNS was handling the situation. Over and over again and he got tired of it

I thought you were responding to a different subject and got confused. Sorry bout that. The bottom line is Paul had to ask the question but Saban does not need to go public with his corrective actions. The media has been behind most of the hysteria about most matters occurring right now in our country. The so-called confrontation with Saban getting visibly upset and then cursing when they break for commercial does not enhance his image with recruits & should not "impress" fans" and most adults. When Muschamp went wild on the sidelines, I don't think that enhanced his image, just made him look like a raving lunatic.

MD, sometimes you appear to wander too far out in left field        ???      Most of the young players that make some of the best athletes come from an environment of no father figure for guidance and to know that they could go play for a coach that would "have their back" and try and give them an opportunity to learn from their mistakes without interference from the media should be a plus!      :dog:

I really don't get why you are so obsessed with the so-called confrontation. Paul was laughing it off & defending Saban today. He says Saban is a passionate guy about his team & players & he respects that. Plus, he KNOWS Saban, been to his home, & had private conversations with him. He stated Saban never carries a grudge & once it's over, it's over & Saban forgets about it. I think you need to get over it. I've never seen you so obsessive before, you're a good guy and great poster and normally laugh things off.

You mean like some people are about Johnny Manziel and the Penn State crap after 5 years? No, I'm not obsessed. The Media Days event is the only game in town right now. On Finebaum's own show yesterday, at the very end, he's still chipping away at Saban. You probably didn't see that. Yeah, he butthurt.

I also saw the interview with Freeze. Once again, he let his agenda get in the way of the facts. Freeze totally denied that he said he was "down" because of everything going on around him. Finebaum cited an "anonymous" source. That's total bullcrap! I'm no Hugh Freeze fan, but Finebaum lost that one too, IMO. Even Marcus Spears called him out on that one.

And I'm no dummy. I know that PF is doing all this for ratings. But he strikes me as a rank amateur the way he posed his questions and the way he went about attempting to interrogate Saban and Freeze. I thought he embarrassed himself.

I thought they put on a pretty good show for all of the Saban and Finebaum haters. There will be more good come out of this for Bama and CNS than there will be bad. ;)

I don't know what the fuss is about.  The player is being punished in the here and now, not 4 months down the road, with community service, drug and firearm education, police ride-alongs, etc.  With kids, pets, etc. usually the immediate punishment is much more effective than promised punishment down the road.

Looks to me like Finebaum lost a few more hairs on that one.

Saban appears to have won the battle but lost the war at least according to those on social media, who credited the Crimson Tide coach for dressing down Finebaum. However the real winner appears to be Finebaum and the SEC Network which received a major boost in interest in a somewhat dull week of football talk in Birmingham.

Round two takes place this week when Saban joins Finebaum on his show. Stay tuned.

I bet nothing harsh or spectacular happens just because they both know everybody is expecting it. RTR!
