Title: BB Recruting Update Post by: McBaman on September 09, 2016, 12:07:51 PM Before CAJ showed up we wouldn't have been on most of these guys radar screens. We need to win some of these recruiting battles to break through to the next level.

He's building a strong foundation. The elite players will start coming here soon.
Title: Re: BB Recruting Update Post by: Jamos on September 10, 2016, 06:27:26 AM CAJ is a winner and so will the basketball program be. It's hard to say just yet as to how good the team will be this year but the program has already shown the mark of a champion by the recruiting aggressiveness of CAJ and his staff. It's hard for the fans to be so patient but I think this wait will be well worth it.
Title: Re: BB Recruting Update Post by: pmull on September 11, 2016, 08:03:21 AM CAJ is recruiting on a national level with the elite teams like UK, Duke, UNC and Kansas. The state of Alabama is loaded with talent which will also help.
Most of the recruiting guru's think we will get 5 stars Sexton and Petty. We should get Alex Reese, 4 star from Pelham. Jamal Johnson (Buck's son) and Moundville 4 star Herb Jones are potential pickups if some of the other bigger fish commit elsewhere. I do not ever remember having 4 stars as our back up plan if a 5 star does not pan out. Do not under estimate new assistant coach John Pelphrey's roll in recruiting. He has been a big help to CAJ. Pelphrey has been a head coach at South Alabama and Arkansas. He also has his jersey retired and hanging from the rafter's in Rupp Arena. He and CAJ make a good 1-2 punch. Title: Re: BB Recruting Update Post by: ricky023 on September 11, 2016, 08:45:20 AM I think you are more right than you think pmull. The names you speak are BB heroes. Our club is going to be on a Kentucky level one day not far away. Now you may say well when, it takes work to turn around a slow program as we had just ask CNS. I am proud of where we are but do I like to lose ; NO! but there is always growing pains in any program rise. RTR!
