Title: "Florida QB Luke Del Rio injures knee, unlikely to play vs. Vols" Post by: Chechem on September 18, 2016, 05:41:54 AM http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000704086/article/florida-qb-luke-del-rio-injures-knee-unlikely-to-play-vs-vols
Quote McElwain, who thought the hit on Del Rio was dirty, reportedly was yelling at the North Texas sideline after the third-quarter play and had to be restrained by UF players. Wow! It almost looks like he might have stumbled somewhat as he was going in for a legal "blind-side" hit... Hate that Del Rio was injured regardless...

But you can't go in low anymore. Maybe that was it. Hey, that's what you get when you schedule a patsy. Read here: http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/new-rule-protect-passers-low-hits "The rule specifically covers a scenario in which a quarterback is in a passing posture with one or both feet on the ground. In that situation, no defensive player rushing unabated can hit him forcibly at or below the knee." Maybe the refs are trying to enforce it liberally to protect the QB as often as possible. :dunno: Title: Re: "Florida QB Luke Del Rio injures knee, unlikely to play vs. Vols" Post by: N.AL-Tider on September 19, 2016, 06:07:05 AM did I hear wrong or did the announcer say "that hit is penalty in pro ball" :dunno: It's both a NCAA AND a NFL rule.
