Title: If OM Can't Beat Bama, Who Can?
Post by: McBaman on September 18, 2016, 09:59:48 AM
Interesting take on that question...

In an almost uncomplimentary way, when you screw up as much as Bama did yesterday, and you still win...on the road with a true freshman QB...then it's gonna take a lot to beat you.

I think that right now Louisville would stand a really good chance at beating Bama...

The article was way over-the-top. Anything can happen, like Hurts getting injured, another team playing sky-high & a perfect game (S. Carolina in 2010), and other unpredictable events. We have plenty of tough SEC games left, games at Tennessee, LSU, & Auburn, even though Auburn is struggling & Malzahn is on his way out. Nationally, there's Louisville, Ohio State, and maybe Michigan, and Houston. The good news is that Saban teams tend to improve over the season and Hurts, Harris, & Jacobs are looking good. Next week, bring on Kent State!

To add to the collective angst of the CFB world, many of the guys who are in key roles for us, are only freshman and sophomores. There will be no talk this year that next year will be better because Bama will lose its key guys to the pros. If we scare you this year folks, just wait.

Last 2 years Tennessee played us close. They may be inconsistent right now, but, they have some talent and with a little luck at their house could give us fits!

This article was written to try and get inside the minds of our players. The writers want these guys to get to thinking the same thing. This is the only reason it was written, remember when CNS said you guys, the media, put all these expectations on these players well they are doing this to get our players to believing their own press. Just watch what CNS says about all this crap. Yesterday other than Ole Miss there was probably 5 to 8 teams that could have beaten us bad with that 24-3 lead. RTR!

I left Michigan State off my list on purpose after the 2 beatdowns we have done to them. Their team "speed" is less than Hoover High School.

That's why I have them under "might make playoffs" but not title contenders.

TN might fit under SEC East Champ if they beat Florida without Del Rio.

I think Florida can limp and beat TN.  They have a really good defense and a fair offense.  TN has struggled against two teams that they should have beaten easily IMO...I think either Florida or UGA wins the east this year...

Ole Miss very well could have beaten Bama. Arkansas, Tennessee, A&M, and LSU can all beat Bama if they play well and Bama struggles.

Yesterday was a big win, but this team hasn't proven anything yet.

Are you wanting to give them poor folks another beatdown? Shame on you.
