I can be wrong because we have have had some great ones like the 1991 defense but we are much better in this one I believe. RTR!

I've seen articles saying it's the best defense ever in college football. But statistically it doesn't equal Bryant's 1966 undefeated team that held six teams scoreless (including four straight). Four opponents only scored one TD and the highest against us was the Vols with 14 points. Not bad, huh? That team you remember lost to LSU 9-6 during the season then beat that same team 21-0 in the BCS Title game. In that game, the Tide defense allowed only 92 yards of total offense. Read that again, it said ONLY 92 YARDS TOTAL! That is total domination...

We gave up 43 points to Ole Miss and 30 to Arkansas. I do think this is our best pass rush of the Saban era. The speed of this defense is outstanding. We also seem to be getting better as the year goes on.

One thing I wonder with the example of the 2012 defense, also, you know we play different players and different strength of players each year. I wonder how we could ever really tell the best defense other than stats but these players keep getting faster stronger bigger and sometimes lighter for speed. I wonder how you could really tell?
