Title: Report: Phil Knight prepared to spend $10 million per year on new football coach Post by: bama57 on November 06, 2016, 04:36:17 PM Quote As if he needed it, Mark Helfrich’s hot seat just got a little bit hotter. During yesterday’s 45-20 loss to USC, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported that Nike co-founder Phil Knight is ready to toss absurd money at a coach in order to bring a national championship to Oregon. If the report turned out to be true, and the Ducks did bring in a big-name coach, he would be the highest paid coach in college football by a million dollars. Currently, Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh is the highest paid coach in the country with an annual salary of just over $9 million. Other top coaches include Alabama’s Nick Saban ($7 million), Ohio State’s Urban Meyer ($6 million) and Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops ($5.5 million). http://www.addictedtoquack.com/2016/11/6/13540624/report-phil-knight-prepared-to-spend-10-million-per-year-on-new-football-coachTitle: Re: Report: Phil Knight prepared to spend $10 million per year on new football coach Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 06, 2016, 05:27:11 PM Only 2 coaches can guarantee a championship, Saban & Meyer & neither is going to Oregon. This money chase is getting ridiculous. Here's the salary of some NFL coaches:
Bill Belichick (Patriots)-$7.5 mil a year (winner of 4 Super Bowls) John Harbaugh (Ravens)-$7 mil (won a Super Bowl) Sean Payton (Saints)-$8 mil (won Super Bowl) Pete Carroll (Seahawks) $8.5 mil (been to 2 Super Bowls, won 1) :popcorn2: Title: Re: Report: Phil Knight prepared to spend $10 million per year on new football coach Post by: ricky023 on November 07, 2016, 08:56:53 AM Only 2 coaches can guarantee a championship, Saban & Meyer & neither is going to Oregon. People in this country are starving and schools won't teach the Bible but they will spend these kinds of millions of dollars to try and buy a National Championship to a school. Well it won't be long till high schools will do the same thing I guess. :'(, it is not about playing sports and teaching anymore, only Saban does that, it is about money and getting something at all cost if you burn in Hell later then that is OK. RTR!
