Title: Coaching Vacancies & Possible Replacements Part II Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 19, 2016, 04:27:47 PM Wow, things have changed since my September 25 post on this subject. Here's the original post:
Quote As they say, the first shoe has dropped with the Les Miles firing. Here are more possibilities along with some replacements. Clay Helton USC: Tom Herman (played college ball in California), David Shaw Les Miles LSU: Herman, J. Fisher, Petrino, Art Briles Gus Malzahn Barn: Fisher & Petrino, & maybe another Bowden Mark Stoops Kentucky: Hopeless, doesn't matter Derek Mason Vandy: see Kentucky above Jim Mora UCLA: Tom Herman James Franklin Penn State: Joe Paterno, Jr. Brian Kelly Notre Dame: Mark Helfrich Oregon Impressive list of programs who have problems. Title: Re: Coaching Vacancies & Possible Replacements Part II Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 19, 2016, 06:09:36 PM This is what makes sports so great, the unpredictability. Update:
Stoops UK is on verge of bowl eligibility so he's okay. Franklin Penn State: They are 8-2 and might win Big 10 and make the CFP. Charlie Strong Texas: 5-5 & looks like toast with strong rumors of Tom Herman (UH) going there. Brian Kelly Notre Dame: 4-7 on year and no bowl game. This after being a preseason pick for the CFP. Ed Orgeron LSU: Loss to UF was big. UF was a 14 point dog with their 3 best tacklers & QB not playing. If Fisher wants the job, it's his. Also, talk of them chasing Herman. Jim Grobe Baylor: Expect a huge housecleaning after the season with all the recent sleaze coming out. Talk of Les Miles going there, not sure Grobe will be retained. Mark Helfrich Oregon: They are 4-7 and Phil Knight of Nike says he's willing to pay $10 mil a year for a new coach. Not a very good sign. Les Miles Purdue. I'll believe it when I see it. Jim Mora UCLA: He's in his 5th year and he is 4-6 with a 41-22 record there. Rich Rod Arizona: Burnt toast. He's 2-8 with a 17-25 conference record. Gus Malzahn Barn: 7-3 after losing to a poor UGA team. The new & improved Barn offense scored 7 points & no first downs in 2nd half. If he gets blown out by Bama, like 35-0, he's gone. Clay Helton USC: From the walking dead to the coach of a revived team at 7-3 & #15 in country. Derek Mason Vandy: He may have survived for another year. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Coaching Vacancies & Possible Replacements Part II Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 19, 2016, 06:24:22 PM Charlie Strong & Texas just lost to mighty 2-9 Kansas, 24-21.
 Title: Re: Coaching Vacancies & Possible Replacements Part II Post by: ricky023 on November 19, 2016, 10:05:12 PM Charlie Strong is gone and what about assistants? Especially those who might leave Alabama to go somewhere with somebody? RTR!
