'The American Jobs Act' is another stimulus bill with a price tag of $447 billion. If passed it will increase the deficit this year by another $226 billion.

Piece by piece: Obama wants $35 billion for teachers, first-responders first

President Obama is returning to the road this week to press Congress to start passing the American Jobs Act, beginning with $35 billion for states to put teachers and first-responders to work.

But White House officials said Sunday that Obama will not be sending a separate piece of legislation to Congress, referring questions about the process to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that Congress has a jump-start in producing legislative language because Obama submitted the American Jobs Act with the provisions contained within.

But how many months or years of arguing with the Democrats did it take to convince them Saddam Hussein was a bad guy and the "rape rooms" were real.

So we are "chipping in" 100 troops to go attack Christians in Africa. This is kind of how the mess in Libya began.

A  tourist visiting the area drives through town,  stops  at the motel, and lays a $100 bill on the  desk  saying he wants
to inspect the  rooms  upstairs to pick one for the night.     
 
As  soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner  grabs  the bill and runs next door to pay his debt  to  the butcher.     
 
The  butcher takes the $100 and runs down  the  street to retire his debt to the pig farmer.     
 
The  pig farmer takes the $100 and heads  off  to pay his bill to his supplier, the Co-op.     
 
The  guy at the Co-op takes the $100 and  runs  to pay his debt to the local prostitute,  who  has also been
facing hard times and has had to  offer  her
"services" on credit.     
 
The  hooker rushes to the hotel and pays  off  her room bill with the hotel owner.

 
  The  hotel proprietor then places the $100  back  on the counter so the traveler will  not  suspect anything.     
 
At  that moment the traveler comes down  the  stairs, states

Tea party leader calls for Cain to drop out

The leader of a tea party group is calling for scandal-embroiled GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain to drop out of the race.

Judson Phillips, the founding leader of Tea Party Nation, said Cain’s flailing response to sexual harassment allegations brought forward by several women was simply unacceptable.

“Herman Cain has got to go,” Judson said in an email to Tea Party Nation members. “I do not believe Cain’s accusers. There are too many questions about them. The allegations are not why Cain should leave. The campaign’s response is why he should now withdraw.”

“Ten days in, the Cain campaign is still stumbling around like newly castrated cattle. [Campaign manager] Mark Block should have been gone nine days ago,” Phillips continued. “Cain should have a competent team in place by now as well as someone really good at crisis management. So far, it is not there.”

When the allegations against Cain first surfaced, Phillips called them a “hatchet job,” but the Cain campaigns response has convinced Phillips that Cain is not prepared for office.

“If Cain cannot run his own campaign, how is he going to run the country? A few days ago, I would have been willing to accept Cain as the nominee. Cain was not my first choice but I could have easily supported him. No longer.”

David Axelrod's Pattern of Sexual Misbehavior

So it's curious that all the sexual harassment allegations against Cain emanate from Chicago: home of the Daley machine and Obama consigliere David Axelrod .

Suspicions had already fallen on Sheila O'Grady, who is close with David Axelrod and went straight from being former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley's chief of staff to president of the Illinois Restaurant Association (IRA), as being the person who dug up Herman Cain's personnel records from the National Restaurant Association (NRA).

The Daley-controlled IRA works hand-in-glove with the NRA. And strangely enough, Cain's short, three-year tenure at the NRA is evidently the only period in his decades-long career during which he's alleged to have been a sexual predator.

And now, after a week of conservative eye-rolling over unspecified, anonymous accusations against Cain, we've suddenly got very specific sexual assault allegations from an all-new accuser out of ... Chicago.

Herman Cain has never lived in Chicago. But you know who has? David Axelrod! And guess who lived in Axelrod's very building? Right again: Cain's latest accuser, Sharon Bialek.

Bialek's accusations were certainly specific. But they also demonstrated why anonymous accusations are worthless.

Within 24 hours of Bialek's press conference, friends and acquaintances of hers stepped forward to say that she's a "gold-digger," that she was constantly in financial trouble -- having filed for personal bankruptcy twice -- and, of course, that she had lived in Axelrod's apartment building at 505 North Lake Shore Drive, where, she admits, she knew the man The New York Times calls Obama's "hired muscle."

The reason all this is relevant is that both Axelrod and Daley have a history of smearing political opponents by digging up claims of sexual misconduct against them.

The gist: a long-standing soup-kitchen program run by a consortium of churches in New Jersey is being undercut by food-safety bureaucrats who have recast the charity as a retail business, thereby wildly raising costs and precluding volunteers from bringing home-prepared foods for the poor.

He’s a smidgen of Bill’s column:

This the men and women of the Community Soup Kitchen have provided for 26 years, not once missing a day. Now comes a challenge greater than any snowstorm or power outage. Earlier this year, the Morristown Division of Health ruled that henceforth the soup kitchen would be considered a “retail” food establishment under New Jersey law.


From that single word far-reaching consequences have flowed. In a column for a local blog, Ray Friant, a volunteer from the Morristown United Methodist Church, called the rule “crazy.” Over Sunday breakfast at a local diner, Mr. Friant, his wife, Emmy Lu, and another church couple who also volunteer at the kitchen, Barbara and Jim Morris, spell out what they mean by crazy.

Most obvious is the higher cost: at least $150,000 more a year. To meet this increase, the kitchen is asking each participating church to up its own contribution. Some congregations don’t have the money. For those that do, it will mean less for some other need.

Much of this cost results from a new prohibition on people donating food they’ve prepared at home. For those on the giving end, often this was the only way they could participate, so eliminating their contributions means eliminating volunteers. For those on the receiving end, it means no more homemade meat loaf, lasagna, cakes and so forth.

Let them eat store-bought cake!

New Hampshire Union Leader backs Gingrich


WASHINGTON (AP) — The New Hampshire Union Leader endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in Sunday editions, signaling that rival Mitt Romney isn't the universal favorite and that the state's largest newspaper could reset the contest there with six weeks to go before voters cast their ballots.

"We are in critical need of the innovative, forward-looking strategy and positive leadership that Gingrich has shown he is capable of providing," the newspaper wrote in an editorial that was as much a promotion of Gingrich as a discreet rebuke of Romney.

"We don't back candidates based on popularity polls or big-shot backers. We look for conservatives of courage and conviction who are independent-minded, grounded in their core beliefs about this nation and its people, and best equipped for the job," the newspaper continued.

Romney enjoys a solid leads in New Hampshire polls and remains at the front of the pack nationally. A poll released last week showed him with 42 percent support among likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire. Gingrich followed with 15 percent in the WMUR-University of New Hampshire Granite State poll.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas posted 12 percent support and former Utah Gov. John Huntsman found 8 percent support in that respected survey.

Those numbers could shift based on the backing of The Union Leader, a newspaper with a conservative editorial page that proudly works to influence elections in the politically savvy state, from school boards to the White House.

"We don't have to agree with them on every issue," the newspaper wrote in an editorial that ran across the width of the front page. "We would rather back someone with whom we may sometimes disagree than one who tells us what he thinks we want to hear."

Perhaps it is a low regard for the racial sensibilities of Rush Limbaugh’s audience, or what he calls “non-college whites” as a whole, but MSNBC host Chris Matthews and the panel on this weekend’s broadcast of “The Chris Matthews Show” has branded an entire segment of society as being guilty of prejudice.

In a segment analyzing Limbaugh’s remarks that First Lady Michelle Obama was guilty of “uppity-ism” from last week, Matthews noted a potential electoral obstacle for President Barack Obama — the loss of white male voters, which he had gotten more of in his 2008 election than any one of the last three Democratic presidential nominees.

“For Rush Limbaugh to haul out that word, it may be a sign that his audience thinks it’s acceptable,” Matthews said. “Back when Barack Obama won in 2008, when that kind of talk was less public, he got 43 percent of white votes and that was the same level as Bill Clinton got in 1996 and higher than Al Gore got with 42 percent of whites, and John Kerry’s 41 percent of whites. But the slippage with whites was clear in the 2010 midterms, when Democrats got just 37 percent of whites and the president’s current support with whites is at 38 percent.”

And that polling data according to Matthews was Limbaugh playing on racism for his audience.

“Clarence [Page], this is about politics and ethnicity,” Matthews continued. “And for him to throw out that word — I have never heard the word ‘uppity’ used, that adjective except in combination with another word, the ‘n’ word.”

Chicago Tribune columnist Clarence Page said Limbaugh used the word “uppity-ism” to appeal to his demographics, perhaps as a ploy for higher ratings.

“It is the perfect dog whistle word and we also know Rush Limbaugh loves to walk that political correctness line and appeal to the demographics you’re talking about,” Page said “I think it’s important to remember that what Democrats haven’t carried the white male-vote since what, LBJ in 1964? This is all a part of the larger culture war that’s been going on in the country since the 1960s. And Rush Limbaugh knows how to plug into that group. That’s his base. As soon as I heard that he had said this, I said, ‘Is this sweeps month? Is this ratings month in radio?’”

Rep. Barney Frank will be remembered for three things: First, he was not only the first openly gay member of Congress but the first involved in a gay-prostitution scandal. Second, he said, “I do not want the same kind of focus on safety and soundness” regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as exercised with regard to other government-affiliated agencies, preferring, as he memorably put  it, to “roll the dice a little bit.” Third, he was co-author of the Frank-Dodd financial-reform legislation. Which is to say, Representative Frank will be remembered as an embarrassment, a reckless gambler, and a legislative malefactor.

Representative Frank was not much of a crusader on gay-rights issues, which was just as well. On the substance of those issues, he was on the wrong side. As a symbol, he was toxic — a powerful politician whose homosexual orientation was hardly the most remarkable feature of his private life, which included involvement with a gay hustler and convicted drug dealer whom the congressman was paying for sex, and who ended up running a prostitution operation out of the congressman’s home. Representative Frank was reprimanded by the House for making misleading statements to a Virginia prosecutor on behalf of the prostitute — whom the congressman eventually put on his own payroll — and for having fixed dozens of parking tickets on his behalf. Americans are broadly tolerant of homosexuality; they are rightly less tolerant of prostitution and political corruption. The congressman’s self-pitying account of the episode made the bad situation worse.

The "Cain Train" is an embarrassment for the GOP. I'd like to see him vindicated but things are piling up.

During contract negotiations with Boeing, the International Association of Machinists (IAM) agreed to drop their charges against the company for building a new plant in South Carolina.

This is a victory for conservatives.

The National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) attempt to dictate where businesses invest has failed.

The IAM is spinning this as a victory, claiming that in exchange Boeing will build their new 737 Max planes in Washington State.

However, if Boeing did want to build their 737 plant elsewhere, the promise of dropping charges would not be nearly enough to change their mind.

This deal looks a lot like a face-saving way for the IAM and the NLRB to give up.

The Vista, California district office of Republican Rep. Darrell Issa was evacuated Thursday afternoon while first responders investigated a report of a suspicious package left on the office doorstep. The device was spotted shortly after an organized protest in front of Issa’s office.

“There was a protest happening around noon, involving MoveOn.org and individuals who identified them as part of the Occupy San Diego movement,” Issa spokesman Frederick Hill told The Daily Caller.

“We understand that an incident did occur.”

Hill added that “the congressman’s biggest concern right now is the safety of his employees, and of everyone involved.” He noted that Issa’s life was threatened in 2001 by a bomb plot that was interrupted by an FBI investigation.

Atlanta:  A defiant Herman Cain suspended his faltering bid for the Republican presidential nomination on  Saturday amid a drumbeat of sexual misconduct allegations against him, throwing his staunchly conservative supporters up for grabs with just one month to go before the lead-off caucuses in Iowa.

Cain condemned the accusations as "false and unproven" but said they had been hurtful to his family, particularly his wife, Gloria, and were drowning out his ability to deliver his message. His wife stood behind him on the stage, smiling and waving as the crowd chanted her name.

Remember Jessica Lynch? U.S. POW for 8 or 9 days back in the beginning of Iraq War. She was blasted by the press for fabricating or embellishing her story. Trouble was, she never said these things,-- that she fought like Rambo. I opened up the story just to see what she was now doing.

I'm glad I revisited her story. I believe she was tossed into this by the Pentagon, anxious to have a great heroine story during an unpopular war. How could she stop it? Her parents or even her immediate superiors didn't have near the power to stop the Pentagon spin machine. She might have even enjoyed her new found noteriety a bit too much.  At this time, and actually to this day, her focus was/is recovering from horrible wounds and a horrible ordeal. To this day, she receives hate mail, as if she started any of it.

"Political implications, legal implications are something which will be sorted out down the road," Romney told NBC's Brian Williams during an exclusive interview here in London. "But I don't happen to believe that America needs new gun laws. A lot of what this young man did was clearly against the law. But the fact that it was against the law did not prevent it from happening."

So when someone tries to blame Bush... REMEMBER  JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"  Budgets  do not come from the White House.  They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat  Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &  2011.  In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office.  At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.  And where was Barack       Obama during this time?  He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and  he signed the omnibus bill as President to  complete 2009.
If  the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending.  After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the  budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.  In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

Romney got a huge bump from the debate. Even the donkey azzes are having trouble spinning it any other way.

I want to puke any time I see one of these "spinners" on TV.  I don't care which side they are for.  Somewhere along the way, we as a society decided that it was acceptable to spin a web of lies if we don't like what really happened.

Besides being a rack of bones, Ann Coulter does nothing to help. I wish she would run off somewhere with John McCain.  McCain is on one cable channel or another almost every night offering his advice to Romney. We need to put his azz in the Old Sailors Home. SIAP

The moderator on last nights debate had definite ties to the Obama campaign. I forget what the conflict was but Romney/Ryan waived her recusing herself this week. But the abortion question was a good "case in point" that she had an agenda. I saw a list yesterday where people were to pick issues according to their importance. The economy was first, taxes or gas prices maybe second, and abortion came in about 20th (exaggerated a little). Also, aside from being a skank, she was definitely a hater of the military.

Random Thoughts:

I was watching Hannity on Fox News last night and the debate was being discussed. He made a comment about BHO claim that gas was $1.86 when he came into office because the economy was bad. Hannity said "Mr. President the economy is bad, gas should be about $1.00 if your claim is true'.

I know Fox News is slanted to the right but it is my favorite news channel. They seem to think Romney is not only gaining solid ground in the election but has taken a nice lead.

All the fact checks on BHO Libya comment is taking a beating. I saw a clip last night with 1/2 of the screen showing what Gary Busey Crazy Joe Biden said in his debate verse BHO comment that he declared an act or terror within 24 hours on the other 1/2 of the screen. Crazy Joe defended the fact that they did not acknowledge an act of terror for two weeks. Funny thing is they are both lying and can not get their story straight.

All of the debate moderators have done a bad job IMO. Candy Crowley was the worst. She interupted Romney 28 times and BHO 9 times. BHO got 4 more minutes talk time than Romney. The kicker is when she incorrectly fact checked Romney on the Libya comment and let the President off the hook. Bob Schieffer (Host of Face the Nation on CBS) will moderate the last debate. I hope he does a better job than the others.

There are many polls out and you can take most of them with a grain of salt. One I found interesting was a CBS poll that asked undecided voters who would help the economy more. 65% chose Romney. Improving the economy is the No. 1 issue in this election.

I figure I need to address this to a couple of guys on here. pmull and WV, how on earth do you argue with a liberal (if you really have to talk to them)? I have a "friend" (and I use that term loosely) who continually takes up boneheaded positions on things, as well as blames Pres. GWB for EVERYTHING. I tried ignoring arguments, and I have tried being nice. But today, this person posted a Facebook item about how Bush screwed up everything in 8 years, and that BHO deserves another 4 to fix. I reached my boiling point, but I do not want to get into a shouting match, which I think is exactly what some of his kind want. I need the cool-headed facts. I am reaching out to you guys (as well as any other "right-minded" people here on the board) who can give me some advice.

Did you ever see "Point - Counterpoint" on Saturday Night Live with Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtain? Start your rebuttal with "Jim you ignorant bastard". Then proceed with your conservative talking points. They are especially hard to convience if they have an Omaba Phone hung on their belt or if they are receiving a government handout.

In reality some liberals are so set in their ways they will never agree to you. Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Long lines at the polls this morning. I know the state of Alabama is firmly in Romney's corner. My hope is that voters accross our nation are as fed up and want change and a better economy as bad as the folks I stood in line with. Biggest turnout for an election I have seen in 20 years of voting in Decatur.

I got a heavy dose of Fox News last night. They think Romney is going to win. So do I. We can't take four more years of Obama.

I have never been so disappointed in the American people. I can not believe we elected Obama to another 4 year term.

I guess we will continue to try and make ends meet in this bad economy while our government continues to spend money like a drunken sailor until China cuts us off.

The Dow is down by more than 300 right now.  I'd say that's a statement on what many financial experts think about Obama's reelection.  I think it's also a sign of things to come.  Maybe if it gets bad enough the country will finally wake up.

I blame the Republicans.  You have to be pretty pathetic to lose to the incumbent with this economy and his track record.  I suspected the election was a lost cause the moment it became apparent that Romney was going to be the nominee.  The sad part is that he probably was the best candidate out of the ones that ran.  Newt would have made the best president by far, but he was even more unelectable.  Cain showed promise until the scandals began to surface.

The guys who are really serious about being president have done their homework before they announce.  You cannot run for president every 4 years -- no one would take you seriously -- so you have to pick and choose your time to run, and be ready when that time gets here.  Because it is much more difficult to defeat a sitting President than someone running for the first time, those elections without a President seeking reelection usually attract better candidates.

But the Republican Party has to realize that demographics are changing, and the messages which have worked in the past are now coming back to haunt them.  Perhaps the biggest three deal breaker issues in this election for Romney were immigration, women's issues and the auto industry bail out.  Positions taken on these issues, and comments made, lost a large segment of the voting population, especially in battleground states, and two of those populations (women and non-whites) are only becoming a larger percentage of the voting public.

There is absolutely no reason why the Republicans can't win over the (legal) hispanic vote and they are foolish for not making an effort there.  From an idealogical standpoint they have a lot in common.

I don't know if it would change the outcome in a solid blue state, but it could easily make a difference in a toss up state.  Take Florida for example.  Right now Obama has 4,143,364 and Romney has 4,096,351.  This state could have been won easily with just a little more support from hispanics.

That is only a difference of 47,013 votes.  So if only 23,507 hispanic voters switched their vote to Romney he wins Florida.  I am not an expert on Florida demographics, but Miami-Dade county had almost a million votes and I suspect a good number of those were hispanics.  There were over 8 million total votes cast in the state.

I support a path to citizenship for the people who are here now.  We need to secure the borders too though.  In a post 9/11 world it should be practically impossible to come into the country illegally, but it is still fairly easy.

As for the peaceful hispanics he came here for a better life, who can blame them for that?  After decades of the Federal government saying that it is OK to come on in, why would they abide by an immigration law that is completely ignored by the very government that passed that law.

I do not have a problem with anyone of any race coming here if they will obey all laws. An immigrant should not come to our country looking for a handout. Right now they come here, have a kid and go on welfare. They need to have a job, pay taxes and maintain proper health and auto insurance. Currently illegal hispanics are a burden to our medical system and one reason insurance cost is so high. Alabama pasted a law that you must have minimum auto insurance. My family has had two accidents caused by illegal immigrants that did not have insurance. Nothing was done to them and I had to pay $500 deductable to get cars fixed.

We need to strictly inforce the laws that are on the books now. If an illegal immigrant breaks the law send them home. If they obey the laws they are welcome to stay. It would also help if they learn our language.

I just don't know how accurate that is.  All of the ones that I know came here for jobs and they do work.  I don't know if they are here legally or not, but the odds are that at least some of them are probably illegal I would think.

A lot of those same lazy white folks drive around without insurance too.  >:(

Let me rephrase my comment. Right now some come here, have a kid and go on welfare. There are many that come here and lead productive lives and are an asset to their community and the companies they work for.

In Decatur you can not go to Walmart without getting behind a hispanic with several kids paying for items with food stamps and milk/egg government coupons. Doctors have moved from Decatur General Hospital to the private hostipal that is not required to take patients that can not pay the medical bill. By law a hospital has to take a life/death patient such as heart attack. Private facilities do not have to treat non-life threatening illness or deliver babies. Parkway Medical Center has a map to give to the uninsured showing how to get to Decatur General.

I stand by my comment that we need to strictly inforce the laws we have on the books now. I don't blame them for wanting to come here but there is a legal way to do it.

1.  I think we need to do away with the automatic citizenship law for people that are born here.  I think citizenship at birth should only be available to people who have at least one parent that is a citizen or here by some legal means.

2.  I think you should not be able to get food stamps or any other government assistance unless you are here legally.

3.  However, if you are here illegally, I would support the government helping you out with an all expenses paid trip back to your country of origin if you are not able to provide for yourself.

I also think we should hold employers accountable if they hire illegal immigrants.

I am sick of hearing people say that the Petraeus affair/scandal is a moral issue but he did not break any laws. A Four Star General and CIA Director is held to higher standards than the general public. To achieve these high posts you are required to have unquestioned integrity and justment. Once you start making bad decisions the cover up begins. One lie leads to another. IMO this is a national security issue and not just a firing offense.

It also goes to show this administration will cover up anything they can as long as they can. The FBI has know about this scandal for 5 months.

Obama has had a bad week since the election. Lets review:

1. The Benghazi mess. Obama's administration let 4 noble Americans die in Benghazi for no reason other than political gain. The facts of the cover up are emerging and the GOP is wanting a "Watergate type" panel to review exactly what all went wrong and why.
2.The head of the CIA has resigned over a sex scandal that the administration has know about since May. It is becoming apparent this is much more than an affair but a National Security Risk.
3. The stock market has dropped 750 points. US economy being the issue.
4. Israel is on the brink of war. The Mid East in general is in turmol.
5. Seven states have the 30,000 signatures on petitions to secede from the United States. A petition with 30,000 signatures warrants a response from the White House. Texas has over 100,000 signatures.

What a mess this country is in. I hope the end result is not as bad as it looks from where I am sitting.

I had the gun control talk with a co-worker yesterday. I tried to explain that if gun control laws are put in place the only ones that will have guns are the bad guys.

When any entity gets so large that it is unyielding and unmanageable, it is only a matter of time before it becomes intrusive. It appears that several departments of our federal government have obviously become downright tyrannical.

Attorney General Holder approved the "Fast and furious" sale of firearms to the drug cartel, but he claims to know nothing about the program. He recused himself from the wiretapping of the Associated Press telephones and seizure of their Facebook accounts, but didn't fill out any paperwork to verify his recusal. And he doesn't remember the date that he took this action. It seems that all he knows is that he doesn't know anything about the initiative to seize the AP journalists' documents. Now it is revealed that the Justice Department seized records of James Rosen, Fox News reporter. What I don't understand is; if the Administration had leaks, why didn't they wiretap their own people? Why infringe on the rights of what, until now, has always been a free press?

Acting IRS Director Miller was grilled by a House Committee and he seems to have come down with convenient amnesia. He couldn't remember which office told him what or when, nor could he recall their names. He was not aware of the IRS targeting conservative and religious groups which opposed the Obama agenda of bigger government. When asked why he didn't provide "full disclosure" at a previous congressional hearing, he danced on the head of a needle al la Clinton and stated that he had told the truth. Any and all specifics of significance usefully escape his recollection.

President Obama stated that he first learned about the IRS targeting conservative groups from hearing it on the news. Several other White House officials knew, but the storyline is that they decided not to tell the One. We are to presume that Mr. Obama was not advised by the Secretary of the Treasury, even though he know at least as early as June 2012, and meets with the president regularly. Also the White House counsel was aware of the IRS targeting effort in June 2012, and even though he is hired to provide counsel to the President, he forgot to tell Mr. Obama.

The individual who was in charge of the tax exempt certificate application department has now been promoted to head the Obamacare tax assessment department. Sarah Hall Ingram headed the tax-exempt division while the conservative and religious groups were targeted for obstruction and delay of their applications. But even though she ran the department, she claims to have known nothing of what was going on. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS director of exempt organizations, invokes her 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination. And still many Americans are awaiting 3-D glasses to see what is going on!

Former Secretary Clinton was asked for additional security for the Benghazi consulate on several occasions, but she knows nothing of those requests. She was advised by Mr. Hicks by telephone, in real time, that there was an "ongoing" terrorist attack on the consulate. But she told the families of the deceased and the American public that it was only a demonstration over a silly video that got out of hand.

Health and Human Services head Kathleen Sebelius is now under investigation for illegal fundraising to help with Obamacare. Probably put pressure on some big corporations to help; the problem is that government employees cannot use their position to raise money.

At some point we must begin to wonder "who the hell is running our government?" Everyone who is charged to know what is going on seems to not have a clue? The acting IRS Director doesn't know what is going on within the IRS. The Attorney General doesn't know what is going on within the Justice Department. The former Secretary of State claims she didn't know what was going on within the State Department. The head of the tax-exempt department won't talk because she doesn't want to go to federal prison? And the President claims that he knows nothing about nothing – and I am prone to believe him if not the others.

President Obama is detached and intellectually disinterested. He won the lottery twice and is preoccupied with making sure that he doesn't miss any of the taxpayer provided goodies before he leaves office. He is interested in: play golf, playing basketball with NBA players, sending Michelle on vacations and shopping trips, sending his kids of spring break trips, hobnobbing with celebrities, traveling around the country raising money for liberal political objectives, and hosting star studded galas at the White House.

One would think that about everything that can go wrong within our government has gone wrong in the past few months: a consulate attacked and an Ambassador killed, a terrorist attack on America, wiretapping of a major news organization, targeting of conservative applicants for tax-exempt status, and private personal information being shared by different federal departments for the purpose of harassing American citizens. Mr. Obama says that there is no "there, there" as pertains to Benghazi; with Harry Reid and a friendly media to protect him, he may be right.

Our mammoth government is so bewildering that no human being could possibly oversee its function. And it so completely corrupt and out of control that it obviously doesn't have the ability to police itself.

The amazing thing is that Obama's approval rating has not dropped through the floor since all the scandals emerged. Guess that means that the 47% actually do exist? Where we are heading is fearful to contemplate but we are getting there faster every day.

I say we keep the FEDERAL government shut down except for military, VA, and maybe a few other no-brainer services that most everyone agrees on, then let the states run everything else.  Nail some boards up over the doors of the white house, capitol, and supreme court.  Close down the IRS and let the state's collect the federal tax and send it to Washington as long as they are behaving themselves.

Earlier today, the veterans tore down the barricades blocking access to outdoor war memorials, such as the National World War II Memorial and the Marine Corps War Memorial.
They then carried the barricades and stacked them in front of the White House.
The Obama administration purposely decided to erect the barricades to keep the public from visiting war memorials during the government shutdown.
These war memorials, such as the WWII memorial, are outdoor architectural structures in a park with no official entrance.
It took focused effort, under direction by the Obama administration, to block access to these memorials.
An anonymous park service official told the Washington Times that they had been ordered to “make life as difficult for people as we can” during the government shutdown.
Other senior citizens have been terrorized by federal agents during the shutdown. At the Yellowstone National Park last week, feds aggressively ordered elderly tourists to stay inside a hotel under armed guard.

I think it is just a matter of time before ObamaCare backfires on the President. Dems, Reps and Independents will be irate once they see the cost effect of insurance. This is going to hit everyone right in the wallet. Reps are going to be saying I told you so, Dems are going to be saying I thought it was free and Indy's are going to be saying WTH.

Meanwhile the economy continues to stink and furloughed government employees just got a two week vacation paid for by taxpayers. Yes they are all getting backpay.

The latest Obama Administration spin is Obamacare is not causing insurance rates to go up. Insurance rates are going up because the economy is improving and more people are going to the doctor.

WTF. Do they think we are stupid?

Remember the quote below from Obama. Who is lying? Obama or the millions of families claiming their existing health care plan is being cancelled because it does not meet Obamacare requirements?

I want to apologize for my disparaging remarks toward folks who voted for Romney in the primary.  The truth is that the Republicans had a pretty weak field the last time and there were not a whole lot of options.  I don't think I even voted in the primary last time.  Of course I did vote for Romney myself in the general election.

A woman from Los Angeles who was a tree hugging, liberal Democrat and an anti-hunter purchased a piece of timberland near Colville, WA . There was a large tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the natural splendor of her land so she started to climb the big tree.

As she neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters in her crotch.

In considerable pain, she hurried to a local ER to see a doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a Democrat, and an anti-hunter and how she came to get all the splinters. The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her.

She sat and waited three hours before the doctor re-appeared.The angry woman demanded, "What took you so long?"

He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a 'recreational area' so close to a Waste Treatment Facility.

And I'm sorry, but due to Obama-Care they turned you down.

John McCain's remarks about the Pledge of Allegiance!

 

In light of the recent appeals court ruling in California,

with respect to the Pledge of Allegiance,

the following recollection from Senator John McCain is very appropriate:

As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war

during the Vietnam War.  In the early years of our imprisonment,

the NVA kept us in solitary confinement two or three to a cell. 

In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms

with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room.

 

This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result

of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of

a few hundred POW's 10,000 miles from home.

 

One of the men who moved into my room

was a young man named Mike Christian.

 

Mike came from a small town near Selma, Alabama.

He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old.

At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission

by going to Officer Training School. Then he became a

Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967.

Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and

our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed.

 

As part Of the change in treatment,

the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive packages from home.

In some of these packages were handkerchiefs,

scarves and other items of clothing.

 

Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months,

he created an American flag and sewed on the inside of his shirt.

 

Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup,

we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell

and say the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the

most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that

in that stark cell it was indeed

the most important and meaningful event.

 

One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically,

and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it.

 

That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for

the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours.

Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in.

We cleaned him up as well as we could.

 

The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle

on which we slept. Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room.

 

As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement

died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath

that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his

bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there

with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received,

making another American flag. He was not making the flag because it

made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knew

how important it was to us to be able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and country.

 

So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance,

you must never forget the sacrifice and courage

that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation

and promote freedom around the world.

 

You must remember our duty, our honor, and our country.
