This old photo was printed as a postcard in Kiel, Germany.  But it has no other marks.
Looks like a group of WWI(?) German(?) sailors posing at the base of this huge Roman(?) statue. 

But where?  Clearly this statue is no longer in existence.  Maybe it was destroyed in war?  Anybody know??

Well our bladder in our water tank went out today and it cost 174.00 and something and I was wondering how in the world I was gonna borrow that much money. I thought I might win it by naming this contest but it is ok. The church sent the money to the store and paid for it all. Man we was blessed! RTR!

BTW, the photo was on a postcard that my BIL had.  He'd searched the web and found nothing.  Me too.  I convinced him that OUR GROUP could solve it; we did!  Thanks again to X for finding it.
