Title: Brian Kelly Looking to Coach Outside of Notre Dame, per Report Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 26, 2016, 10:30:10 PM What the heck? Where would he go and who would want him? Back to Cincinatti, at Houston, Auburn, Oregon, Baylor, or elsewhere?
??? ??? ??? Quote Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly has reached out through representatives to explore coaching options outside Notre Dame, sources told Yahoo Sports. Kelly just completed his seventh season as coach of the Fighting Irish, a 4-8 debacle that was the school’s second-worst record of the last 52 years. The disappointment was compounded by news Tuesday that the NCAA is vacating 21 Notre Dame victories in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons for academic misconduct involving eight players. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources-brian-kelly-exploring-coaching-options-outside-notre-dame-030634063.html Title: Re: Brian Kelly Looking to Coach Outside of Notre Dame, per Report Post by: SUPERCOACH on November 26, 2016, 10:46:58 PM Probation coming for Notre Dame?

I think this sounds exactly right. He wants to get out of Dodge while the getting is good or bad? RTR! Is this 'academic high-bar' a real thing? What does ND require that's so far above what other schools require? It could be a real issue, but it sounds too much like an easy excuse for poor performance. For years ND was very overrated by the press. In the NC game, Bama exposed then #1 ranked ND for what they were: Not a top notch team. Not even close. It seems that since that game, the press has been skeptical of ND. Correct but also the current situation with the NCAA nosing around. He figures he will start being more closely monitored by the higher-ups. With the exception of Clemson, if you lose a meaningful post-season game to Bama you don't recover.
