Title: Match-up's in mind Post by: ALTideUp on December 04, 2016, 10:49:21 AM Here is the Football Writers Association of America's individual balloting for the final rankings before the playoffs. It is curious that 3 writers rank OSU 4th but 7 rank them 5th. Seems like the ones who want them in do not want them to face bama first. Their top 10, FYI 1. Alabama (13-0) 720 45 2. Clemson (12-1) 639 --- 3. Ohio State (11-1) 636 --- 4. Washington (12-1) 590 --- 5. Penn State (11-2) 528 --- 6. Michigan (10-2) 515 --- 7. Oklahoma (10-2) 450 --- 8. USC (9-3) 373 --- 9. Wisconsin (10-3) 366 --- 10. Florida State (9-3) 267 --- Title: Re: Match-up's in mind Post by: ALTideUp on December 04, 2016, 11:13:31 AM More analysis
9 of the writers have PSU in but only two of them have PSU and OSU in. Thus, sentiment seems to be running against 2 big ten teams at the expense of either of the 1 loss conference champs. 1 dido has Michigan in. The koolaid is strong in the mitten. Title: Re: Match-up's in mind Post by: ricky023 on December 04, 2016, 01:09:13 PM I see Alabama is the only top 10 team now in the playoff or otherwise from the SEC. When we played them most of the SEC teams were ranked in the top 10. RTR!

I am interested to see how we do in the other bowl games. I suspect we will do better than most of the pundits are anticipating.

Alabama is dominating on the field and in recruiting, and everyone else has more or less reached parity. Six teams in the SEC West would probably finish with one or two losses playing any other conference's schedule. Auburn is 2nd in the West with four losses because teams are just beating each other up. Are you referring to "we" as in the SEC or "we" as in Bama's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string teams? :popcorn2:Title: Re: Match-up's in mind Post by: Chechem on December 05, 2016, 06:26:54 AM The SEC is down this year because it has been trampled by a herd of wild elephants for several years now. You have a Vandy that can beat any other team in the SEC on a given day. This why you have those 4 losses and such so I agree with you Phil. RTR! |
