ESPN story with a little more info on UH's timetable for today.  If UH sticks to their demands on a buyout (paid to UH if Kiff leaves), this might not happen with Kiff. But I could see him agreeing to a diminishing buyout so that after 2-years it's a small number, and after 3-years none.

Finebaum has been saying all along that the buyout was the sticking point for Kiffin. 

Understandably after having Herman, Sumlin and Briles leave, Houston wants a bit longer tenure for its next coach.

On the flip side, a large buyout also protects coaches who don't produce. 

Well I for one don't mind him staying but then we know CNS is in charge of goes where anyway. RTR!

Was not my guess.  It was stated to me as fact as I recounted in my post.

Your edit of my gloating post above confirms my theory from last year's pickem'.

My theory was that someone (a person with moderator access) deleted  my picks one week. 

That deletion of picks essentially removed from contention.

I was certain that I had not neglected to select my picks and that my picks had been deleted.

My certainty has been confirmed.

Looking forward to the Sark putting his stamp on the offense.

A lot of people thought Sark would be the next OC. Most, like me, were guessing. RTR made two comments that he received from a person he considered a reliable source. It is our fault if we did not listen to him. He was correct and earned the right to gloat. It is a shame his post was modified without his permission. He simply called out a poster who questioned his original post.

  I'm with you.  I don't think his picks were deleted.  I think he probably just forgot to make the pics.  I've done the same thing in the past, even this year...It happens...  :dunno:

I just checked and moderators do not have authority to delete or change a person's picks. 

It is possible that you forgot to save your picks, or your computer did not convey your save to the CRS server.

I'm very pleased to be wrong that Sark is staying.  Everyone who was present during the SEC CG was convinced that Sark was gone.  Looks like CNS is bigger than that.  The result will be better for everyone on the team.

This is correct.  I am the only one that can change or delete someone else's picks.  I don't know what happened to your picks, but I can say unequivocally that no one here deleted them.

I wonder how Houston feels about their Head Coach hire this morning? Applewhite laid an egg in his first game yesterday.

I have read the rumors that Kiffin did not interview well and Houston got terrible references from USC and UT. Really? What did they expect from USC and UT?

I wonder if they wanted Kiffin immediately and not after the Alabama season is complete.

For what it's worth (my sources seem to be in question -  :lol2: ), I heard that he "seemed too eager" for the Houston job.  The President (Renu Khator - a woman) said he wanted to sign, even if the buyout was simple.  Other folks at Woolly said they heard his buyout was too big.  What I heard was she nixed the deal, unimpressed with his demeanor and eagerness.  Nobody that I know said his references were poor.

Message boards, talk radio and your source agree he did not interview well. Buyout was a big topic. Phil Savage said his sources told him references from USC and UT were so negative it played a part in Houston decision.

I bet Houston is wishing they put the "interim" Head Coach on Applewhite this morning rather than naming him Head Coach. He looked lost on the sideline yesterday. He spent most if not all of entire his career in the pressbox. He may work out but I have my doubts.

I doubt Coach Applewhite will make a HC either. I am not really sure he is going to be that much of a big time OC. I wish him well but that don't mean i think he is going to be great. RTR!
