Title: Alabama vs Arkansas State BB-Wednesday Night
Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 21, 2016, 07:22:47 PM
We play at 8 pm on the SEC Network. It might be time to bench Hale & let a young player get some playing time. I'm thinking the something about Jimmy Taylor, but not sure right now. State is 9-2.

What little I have watched they are moving faster/better and more juice on the passes.

Been away from the computer because I was at the gym then had something to eat. Watched first half at the gym. Tide showing much more energy & enthusiasm. Tide 51-42 with 7:34 left in game. Still too many turnovers.

Also driving the ball and creating scoring opportunities.  Not relying on 3 pt shot.  Johnson plays out of control too much.

Bama played well. Arkansas State is a decent team that came in with a 9-2 record and a win over Georgetown. They were fast and aggressive but small. We turned up the heat on defense and held them to 34% shooting.

A much needed win. We play Stetson at home on 12/29 before beginning conference play at Miss State on 1/3.

So our record now is 6-5 going into the next game, am I right? We are going to be really in trouble in the SEC if we don't play with more than what I read here I am afraid. How many wins does it take for us to get into the Big Dance? RTR!

The team looked pretty good last night. Much better than Sunday. As pmull mentioned Arky State is no slouch.

I also felt better about the Clemson loss. They beat SC in Columbia, so I think they are a good team. I watched the last couple of minutes of that game. They won it on hustle and free throw shooting, much the way they beat us.

The team needs to find chemistry going into SEC play. They showed flashes of it last night. If they can be more consistent, they have a chance to do well. Fingers crossed.

The Tide took fewer 3 pointers and drove the basket more, that's a good sign.

I thought they moved off the ball better and quicker.  The passes were more crisp as well as getting to a defensive position better.

Plus, our big 'uns, Taylor and Hall were very active around the basket, except with offensive rebounds.

Arkansas State's two biggest inside players were 6-8 205 and 6-7 200. Pretty easy to push those guys around.
