Title: Alabama vs LSU in Basketball
Post by: Marshal Dillon on January 14, 2017, 12:38:42 PM
We play @LSU at 2:30 pm on SEC Network. We played well against UF except at FT line so this will be an interesting game.

LSU has a player named Blakeney who averages 17.5 points per game. He's a 6'4" guard. Not sure who will be guarding him, maybe Norris or Ingram.

Started Hall, Ingram, Norris, Key, & Junior. Hall got hurt (hit in face) and went to locker room. Crap. Taylor in game.

Suddenly, LSU looks discombobulated. 70-59 Tide. LSU keeps making turnovers. Collins 19 points, Norris 18, Hall 13. Finally, good scoring by 3 players. Another 3 by Collins. 73-60 Tide.

The Super Bowl of posts is here. It's:

THE GOOD

Two players scored 20 or more points, Collins 24, Norris 20
Ingram 7 points, 0 turnovers
Norris 6/12 FG, 3/7 3's
Collins 7/11 3's
Tide 16/31 FG's 2nd half, 7/14 3's
Tide 41 rebounds (LSU 37)
Tide scored 53 points in 2nd half
Turnovers: Tide 10 (1 in 2nd half), LSU 18

THE BAD

KEY 2/12 FG, 0/5 3's
Tide 21/32 FT's, 65%
Johnson 0/6 FG

AND THE UGLY

Hale 0/0 FG,0 points, 1 minute of playing time (really sad to see this)

SEC road wins are hard to get. This was a nice win.

2-0 in SEC road games now. 3-1 overall with Missouri coming to Coleman for the midweek game. The team is really coming together after a rough start. The lack of consistent scoring is still a major concern, but they could turn this into a decent season.

This team is showing some heart and some skill.  They even made some FTs!

SEC Standings after Saturday games. We are sitting in a good position. We desperately need a win over one (or more) of the top teams. We have no bad losses (road loss at Texas is worst loss) but our best win is at home over Vandy. Road win at Miss St looking better with every MSU win.

Kentucky 5-0
Florida 5-0
South Carolina 4-0
ALABAMA 3-1
Mississippi State 3-1
Georgia 3-2
Tennessee 2-3
Vanderbilt 2-3
Arkansas 2-3
Ole Miss 1-4
LSU 1-4
Texas A&M 1-4
Auburn 1-4
Missouri 0-4

LSU win was nice, but their program is imploding right now. We must beat teams like Missouri, Auburn, Ole Miss, & A&M to have any chance at the Big Dance. An upset of UGA, USC would enhance our chances, too. Next game is Mizzou, then Auburn so we have to keep our focus, and practice FT shooting.

LSU has good talent on their team but they need a coach. LSU and Missouri will have new coaches next year.

Bama plays better when little AJ is on the bench.  He waste too much time and puts Bama in a jam with shoots out of his butt.

I agree about LSU, they have lost like their 5 games. Hard to understand.
