Three Oregon football players were hospitalized "after enduring a series of grueling strength and conditioning workouts at UO last week," according to an Oregonian report.

Offensive lineman Doug Brenner, tight end Cam McCormick and offensive lineman Sam Poutasi are patients at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon, the hospital confirmed to ESPN.com.

Sounds like the new head coach is off to a great start.

Sounds like CNS and CSC might have ascended on that team. RTR!

Good point. Something is wrong, either the players were very soft and out-of-shape or the coaches went overboard.

With the way Oregon has been getting beat in the PAC-12 they must have went to out of shape wimps. Maybe somebody decided to raise the standard and come compete with us. RTR!

It sounds like the coaches went overboard. Discolored urine and and Rhabdo don't happen because a player is soft.  The trainers have to know how to push the players to the limits without overdoing it.

I agree. I think they went overboard, maybe some macho display & "motivation" to improve.

More info on the situation.

Quote
A day after it was announced that three Oregon football players had been hospitalized following a series of strength and conditioning workouts, head coach Willie Taggart is absorbing responsibility.

Quote
In the statement, it was also announced that strength and conditioning coach Irele Oderinde has been suspended without pay for one month.

So the head coach took "responsibility" but the strength coach gets suspended.

Sounds like typical downhill stuff. The HC stays with the players and the others cover for him. RTR!
