Nice lob to Taylor.  He has been playing better the last couple of games.

Tide 9/9 FT's, with Hall 4/4. Staying in game because of FT shooting. 25-24 MSU.

Horrible turnover right before half with a chance to extend the lead.

34-29 Tide  Half

I thought that was a horrible call on the blocking foul.  I thought he was there and established position.  I have no clue what a foul is in basketball anymore.

Clearly a charge, no doubt. Tide has fallen into a herky-jerky offense.

Tide needs a score. Way too much fouling by both teams. Ingram hits 2/2 FT's. 57-52 Tide.

62-58 Tide. MSU big man & decent rebounder just fouled out. We're being out-rebounded 36-30.

Can Bama players not stop and hit a pull up jumper off the drive?

Great win for the Tide. Started slow, built a lead, let it slip away, finished emphatically. Free throw shooting was huge and the difference in the game. The team finally seems to have found an identity. Key is emerging as a star.

The next four games are going to be rough. We need to win one of the road games against Arkansas or South Carolina.

The tournament is not out of reach for this team if they finish strong. All the losses have been against quality teams.

This team is growing up and improving. They found a way to win last night. Who would have thought it would be at the free throw line.

After building a nice lead MSU was coming back and we were in the middle of one of our scoring slumps. Ingram and Key started driving the lane and getting fouled. We were 20-25 from the line in the second half. We re-built our lead without hitting a field goal. For the game we were 31-36 from the line. Key was 10-14 and Ingram was a perfect 12-12. We out scored MSU at the line 31-11.

Before the Auburn game we talked about the difficult 7 game stretch. We are 2-1 so far. The most difficult part is still to come. We go to Arkansas on Wednesday followed by Auburn at home, So Carolina on the road and Kentucky at home.

I predicted we would go 10-8 in SEC play a few weeks ago. We could do better if we continue to play well. 12-6 is a real possibility with 11-7 looking more realistic. We still need a signature win over a good team. We have worked our way back to the NCAA bubble. Nothing new to us about that. We need to find a way to get over the bubble which we have not done in years.

Our RPI (ESPN) is 66 & SOS 65.
Arkansas RPI is 29, USC 19, UK 8, & Barn 59, so if we can go 3-1 against that group, our RPI will definitely jump.

If we go 1-3 over the next four games we will be 7-5.  After that the schedule softens. We play Missouri on the road,LSU and Georgia at home. We should be 10-5 but no worse than 9-6. Then we finish with @A&M, Ole Miss and @ UT. I see 11-7 in that schedule. 10-8 worst case and 12-6 best case.

11-7 gets us to 18-12 with the SEC tournament still to go. IMO that is solid NIT and NCAA bubble.

I see big improvement overall during the season especially last 3 weeks. All season the rebounding has been better. The emergence of Key & Ingram gives us 2 go to guys, Taylor, Hall, & Norris are showing more confidence on the floor. We have been driving to the basket more and fewer 3 pointers. The last game, the FT shooting was a fluke. Have to see the rest of the season to make a real judgement.

Key has emerged as the player we hoped he would be. Dazon Ingram started slowly but is coming into his own. His talent and confidence is really coming through now. Taylor is getting more aggressive in the paint and Riley Norris is becoming a better shooter and rebounder.

I'm really starting to like what I see from this team. AJ Jr is not polished yet, but brings a lot of energy to the team. This can be a fun ride if the road games aren't filled with home cooking.

Roll Tide!!!

The next four games will determine the outcome of this season. The NIT is the most likely destination, but if the team can win one of the road games and stun Kentucky, an NCAA bid would become more likely.

Assuming there are no surprise transfers or other misfortunes, having Ingram, Key, Hall, and Norris back next year with the incoming recruiting class is going to have Bama in great shape for the future.
