Title: We're 4-0
Post by: N.AL-Tider on September 19, 2011, 10:31:34 AM
My two oldest boys, ages 9 & 7 are playing on the same pee wee football team.  Although they aren't that good themselves the team is outstanding.  We've beat the first four opponents by about 3 TD's average.  This past Saturday we won 36-0.  Have only given up 4 scores all year I think too, maybe 5.  Anyways, our schedule gets a lot tougher starting this week but I'm confident that the team is up to the challenge to go all the way, just like Bama will.  #+

Congratulations!

My daughter is a cheerleader on a 7-8 year old team.  We had 2 different games last Saturday.  The first game was an away game that was about an hour and 15 minutes one way.  Then we had to drive back for a home game.  We barely had time to go through a drive through and get a hamburger.  I have no idea why they schedule those poor guys for 2 games in one day.  It is ridiculous.  Does your league do crazy stuff like that?  We left around 9 in the morning and didn't get home until around 4.  And as it turns out, that morning game doesn't even count.  Apparently it was just a practice game or something.  It is bad enough for the parents and the cheerleaders, but those little football players have got to be exhausted.  If I had a son on that team I would be busting some heads.  I get pretty riled up about it as it is.  Out of all the adults that were involved with that schedule, I can't believe that not a single one of them stood up and said "No, this is not a good idea and we aren't going to do it".

I am surprised your league allows two games in a day even if one is a practice game. My girls cheered in Pop Warner when they were young. I have never heard of two football games in one day at any level.

Congrats on that 4-0 start. Aren't kids fun.  :D

We're part of a pretty good league.  We are playing an 8-game schedule with only one game per week.  We did play a jamboree game and a "practice" game before the season started though but even then just one game per day.

No kids here, but I am a veteran of Pee-wee football.  I remember playing two games in one day once as part of kick off tournament practice thing, but they were at the same field.  During the season we played one game per saturday.  Good times.

Congrats NALT.  I know the kids are having fun winning.
