Title: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on September 19, 2011, 12:47:40 PM http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/article/20110919/SPORTS0401/109190318/Inside-Tide-Alabama-offense-gets-first-test-Saturday
Quote TUSCALOOSA -- Three games in, the sample size is finally there. Let the statistical analysis of the retooled Alabama offense commence. Just don't forget the footnotes. These numbers come with an asterisk or two considering competition and the movable parts. Regardless, the Crimson Tide breezed through the non-conference season outscoring Kent State, Penn State, and North Texas by a combined 116-18. None of the three threatened serious competition after halftime -- a streak that likely ends Saturday when No. 14 Arkansas rolls into Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Razorbacks (3-0) threaten to tax the Alabama defense with more of everything in six days, thus the Tide offense can exit the testing phase and expect more responsibility for the final result. SEC defenses won't likely surrender four touchdown runs of 43 yards and longer as North Texas did Saturday. Well in this writers' opinion this may be the case, BUT he has not faced Alabama either so he does not what CNS has held back. Does he finally turn it all loose, no I doubt it. He is saving for Fla. and LSU would be my shoice. RTR! Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: Chechem on September 19, 2011, 01:16:09 PM Bizarre. Same story and much of the same wording, but different title. Plagiarism? Compare to this one: http://www.crimsonredsports.com/index.php?topic=4596.0

The Anniston Star writer must have his columns posted in Montgomery Advertiser. I didn't realize it or I wouldn't posted. Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on September 19, 2011, 01:59:47 PM I haven't read the article, but there seems to be a typo in the title.
He meant, "Arkansas offense gets its first test on Saturday," right? Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: SUPERCOACH on September 19, 2011, 02:05:46 PM I think you are right.

Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: SUPERCOACH on September 19, 2011, 02:12:30 PM When I looked at the articles, I thought the one from the Anniston paper seemed to have several more paragraphs. I'll bet he took a story off the AP wire and added to it. This is not uncommon. The other paper probably just ran it as is. :dunno:
Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: pmull on September 19, 2011, 02:20:43 PM The Bama beat writer for Anniston, Montgomery and Decatur papers is the same guy, Mike Casagrande. He is a good writer. The same article carry a different title in the papers for some reason.
He also covers Austin High School sports. :D Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on September 19, 2011, 02:26:04 PM The Bama beat writer for Anniston, Montgomery and Decatur papers is the same guy, Mike Casagrande. I believe his articles also show up in the TimesDelay out of Florence. Of course, holding true to their name, all the news is a day late. All those papers are owned by the same parent company. The Decatur paper is printed in Florence. A few years ago they shut down the press in Decatur to save money. It will not be long before newspapers are totally gone. It will not be long before newspapers are totally gone. That's interesting. The TimesDaily used to be owned by the New York Times, just as the Tuscaloosa News was/is. A couple weeks ago my brother was complaining about the TD editor's continues liberal columns, and I said, "What do you expect out of someone appointed editor of a NYT's newspaper?" He told me then that they'd been bought out by a Decatur company. First I'd heard of it. Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: bamaphil on September 19, 2011, 11:40:25 PM SO the team that gave up 28 points at home to Troy is a bigger test than going on the road with a second-time starter at QB in a stadium that holds 108,000 people against a traditional powerhouse with a very good defense?
Title: Re: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on September 20, 2011, 12:17:25 AM SO the team that gave up 28 points at home to Troy is a bigger test than going on the road with a second-time starter at QB in a stadium that holds 108,000 people against a traditional powerhouse with a very good defense? Hey Bamaphil. The answer is No! The article has the wrong title. This article was first released from the Anniston Star early today. I know it is confusing but it's not. Razorbacks sure to be serious competition for Tide Then same article was released from the Montgomery Advertiser with a different title later: Inside the Tide: Alabama offense gets first test Saturday Here is first article and correct name. http://annistonstar.com/bookmark/15572264?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AnnistonStar%2FTideSports+%28Anniston+Star+Tide+Sports%29 If you are still confused don't worry about it and go drink a beer. ;) |
