It was a tough game with both pitchers doing a good job. Bama was it's worst enemy as they squandered away the couple of chances they had to score. State got lucky on their one run as Turner was blinded by the sun covering first and the throw to her went into right field corner allowing the runner at first to score. The final out of the game was exciting as Schroeder drove a pitch to the base of the fence at the foul line and State's left fielder made a circus diving catch. Had she not made the diving catch, Schroder would have likely scored with the speed she has but it didn't happen and Bama lost a tough one. Bama hit the ball consistently and hard at times but they were always right at the State defenders. Today is the rubber match game and hopefully Bama can do better with their run production.

Would someone please explain why I feel horrible about the Tide softball going 2-1 this weekend??? Anyone?  :dunno:

First game we've lost since ULL several weeks ago. Like Jamos said, this loss was pretty much a fluke.
