They are 19-1. They lost their opener and have won 19 straight since. First round draft pick shut us out on Friday.

We are not very good. Any runner on first can walk to second. I do not think we have thrown a runner out all year and now every base runner takes off. Hitting is still weak. Pitching, which should be strong, has regressed since last year. We just do not have SEC talent.

This is sad.  Can the new coach recruit?  :dunno:

Well as we said of CAJ our new coach has got to have time to whip the machine into shape. RTR!

Alabama rebounds win a 4-1 win over UAB at Regions Field in B'ham.

I was following it on the CBS tracker last night. A very badly needed win for the team.  :clap:

But we've invested too much $$$ in the new facilities to let baseball fail.  Jamos, among others herein, is very proud of what we've built, so we need to stock those facilities with a winning team.

South Carolina is rated No. 7. They swept Tennessee last weekend in Knoxville.

Bama pitching held USCe to only 6 hits. Cody Henry and Taylor Chandler both hit HR's. Jake Walters got the win going 5.1 innings. Garrett Suchey got the save with 3.2 innings of scoreless one hit pitching.

We opened the season with 20 straight home games going 10-10. We played UAB in Birmingham and USCe in Columbia and we are 2-0. I guess we are a road team.  :dunno:

Well we will grow. It takes time to get where he had his other teams. Just wait we will be fine. RTR!

Very much like the basketball team.

We very nearly pulled out another one in Columbia tonight. We overcame a 4-0 deficit to take a 5-4 lead in the 9th, but gave up a run in the bottom of the 9th and lost it 6-5 in extra innings.

The run scored in the bottom of the ninth is a run scored that I have never heard of happening before. Carolina had a runner at first with two outs and the Bama pitcher threw 3 straight wild pitches that allowed the runner to score and tie the game. Then to make matters worse, that very same pitcher was sent back out to pitch the 10th and final inning as Carolina scored the winning run. Bama definitely has some growing pains and hopefully yesterday's disaster will provide something to turn this team around. :dunno:

I was following the game via podcast; no sound.  So all I got was the names of players and the base runners.  Had no idea that we gave it away!

I watched most of the game. We played well enough to win but made some critical errors that cost us the game. We were not beat by the #8 team in the country. We gave the game to them.

1. In the 4th inning with the score tied 0-0 and a runner on first with no outs a routine ground ball was direct directly to SS. A routine double play ball. It went right through Avant's legs. That gave USCe runners on 1st and 2nd with no out rather than 2 outs and nobody on. USCe went on to score 3 runs in the third.

2. In the bottom of the 9th we brought in our closer with a 5-4 lead. We had battled back from a 4-0 deficient. We walked a runner. Three wild pitches later they scored the tying run.

3.In the bottom of the 10th with the score tied 5-5 we walked the lead off batter on 4 pitches. He was advanced to second on a bunt. He went to third on another wild pitch. He scored on a single to LF to win the game.

This one hurt. It was a game we should have won.

Wor, work, and work will make us better. I really think we have the coaches now we just have to get the attitudes right. RTR!

Bama loses Game Three 4-2.

Bama lost to Auburn 4-3 in the Capital City Classic last night. Bama falls to 12-13.

I am so sick of losing to Auburn.  >:(

Well guys just hang tough. When he gets his team built just like when CNS came in and we lost ULL but now it is Championship every year. We will begin to win in a couple of years. RTR!

It does not get any easier this weekend. We host Arkansas. They are 20-5, 5-1 SEC and ranked # 21.

It goes without saying we need to win this series.

And we're trailing 5-1 in the top of the 5th.  :(

Alabama lost Game Three 8-5. We came back from down 3-0 to tie the game early and came again to tie the game at 5-5 after trailing 5-3. The Hogs got 3 runs in the top of the 9th for the win.

Alabama falls to 13-16 on the year as they lose to Troy 12-11. Bama led 11-9 going into the bottom of the 8th. Troy got 2 runs in the 8th and the winning run in the 9th.

Bama loses at Ole Miss, 7-2.

Seems like Alabama has started several games lately 1-0 in the first, only to go scoreless thereafter.  They almost did it again last night, but managed one more run late.

First year coach, Preacher. He hasn't had a chance to bring his people in yet.

Bama drops Game 2 at Ole Miss 5-4.

We are now 2-9 in SEC play and 13-18 overall. New coach or not this is unacceptable. I see nothing in this team or coaching staff to get excited about about at this point.

I have read where Coach Goff is going to clean house after the season and bring in about 20 players for next year. I hope it works. It was time for CMG to go but I honestly think he could have got more out of this team than 2-9 and 13-18.

Is he the CAG of our baseball team?  :unsure:

This is as bad as it gets. We are 2-12 SEC and in dead last place with no signs of improvement.

Bama won but the score was 6-4. UAB scored 4 runs in the 9th and runners on base when the final out was recorded. Bama and UAB both have losing records for the season. Two of our 14 wins have come against UAB.

A much needed win. Hopefully we can catch fire and win the A&M series this weekend. My goal at this point is to make the SEC Tournament.

When I looked at the box score, I thought it was final. Apparently, they were still playing. Still, a much needed win.

Our teams are going to get better we just have to be patient like have when we gave 5 or 6 years to coaches who didn't have a chance to build a program. RTR!

Alabama dropped their 5th SEC series in 5 tries last night Texas A&M beat us 9-5 on Thursday and 8-2 last night. Alabama is now 14-21 and 2-12.

This is hard to watch. Goff better be one heck of a recruiter. We are worse in every phase of the game than we were under CMG. Instead of slow but steady improvement we are going the wrong way. Many fans are already calling for a change.

Well I thought Coach Goff was a good coach and would turn this around? He has to have time I would think but then we are Alabama. RTR!

A&M complete the sweep yesterday with a 3-2 win.

A&M had 30 hits in the three game series to our 25. They scored 20 runs and we scored 9. The difference was we gave them 17 walks, 8 wild pitches, 2 pass balls, 1 balk, 1 HBP and 6 errors.

We are 14-22 and 2-13.

That is so ugly. It's his first year, but the coach will need to show some improvement next year. This could be the result of the poor coaching of the previous coach, like Grant left CAJ, we see the same thing in baseball.

Let me start by saying I thought it was time for CMG to leave and I was happy with the Goff hire. No one wants Goff to do well more than I do.

With that said I think CMG could be getting much more out of this team than Goff is. We are playing poor fundamental baseball. CMG lost games because the other team had better talent but we played solid defense and pitching was our strength.  This year we find new ways to lose games each week. I think we are playing worse now than at the beginning of the season. I have read that Goff intends to clean house at the end of the season and bring in about 20 new players. I hope that works because I think he has lost his team for the rest of this season.

It's not coaching alone. It also takes having team leaders. I don't think there are any real leaders on this team. I thought maybe Keith Holcombe and Chandler Taylor would be filling that role this year, but apparently not. The team, currently, is just mailing it in. It is really painful to follow them this year. They are dead last in the West at 2-13. The team above them is Ole miss at 7-8. Bama is 5 full games behind the #6 team in the West.  :facepalm:

At this point Goff is making Mitch Gaspard look like Casey Stengel.

I'm usually not one to call for coaches head, but Goff is in way over his head. Could he be a one and done at Bama? With a new AD< I would not be surprised. There is no way Bama should be in this shape, given it's baseball history and facilities. No way.

Stengel lost 120 games in his first season with the Mets, still an MLB record. His record with the Mets was 175-404. Stengel lost big time with the Braves & Dodgers, too. I would take Joe McCarthy who won with the Cubs (yes, the Cubs), Yankees, & Red Sox, winning consistently with each team. Stengel won with the Yankees.

Alabama Baseball took out a season of frustration on Alcorn St last night beating them 18-1.

They sure need some more of that. Let's hope they are waking up.
