Title: Getting pressure on the QB important for Tide this week Post by: pmull on September 20, 2011, 08:02:56 AM Nick Saban insists he doesn’t care about sacks — but pressuring the quarterback? Alabama’s coach said it’s not only important this week against Arkansas, it may be crucial.
“It’s something we definitely need to improve on, especially with the game we have this week,” Saban said Monday when asked about the third-ranked Crimson Tide’s pass rush. “… We have to do a better job of rushing and challenging their front people so we can affect the passing game – not just with how we cover, but how we disguise, how we pressure, how we can rush with four guys. I think all those things are really, really important.” http://www2.dothaneagle.com/sports/2011/sep/19/getting-pressure-qb-important-tide-week-ar-2434736/ Title: Re: Getting pressure on the QB important for Tide this week Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on September 20, 2011, 08:19:37 AM "Arkansas does have three new starters on the offensive line – including true freshman Mitch Smothers, a 6-foot-4, 296-pounder from Springdale, Ark., who has started the first three games at left tackle. The right tackle is senior Grant Freeman, another first-year starter."
Alabama should get some sacks this Saturday against these young lineman. Behind an INT. a sack of the opposing QB brings the crowd to their feet if you're not already standing up, then you just scream louder. I always have loved to see an Bama player crash hard on a QB for sack. RTR!
